Your Job:

The Apparel Colorist is responsible to execute the color approval process for all fabrications and trims to meet seasonal calendar dates for salesman samples and bulk production for Brooks Sports Apparel. The Apparel Colorist works cross functionally with a variety of departments and mills to ensure that the color intent of the Brooks product line is executed to Brooks' high standards - key interfaces include Design, Brooks Asia Office and mill partners. Responsibilities include: driving seasonal color development from development through to bulk production, color card and lab dip evaluation, assisting color designer with color ups, line plan maintenance, problem solving, accurate system/record keeping and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:
! Coordinate color development and approval process to meet target dates for Salesmen Samples and Bulk production yardage.
! Evaluate lab dip submits against standard and provide detailed color comments to Asia Team (and fabric mills) to meet key calendar timelines.
! Partner closely with Asia Team (and fabric mills) to ensure all color related testing meets Brooks standards.
! Develop and distribute seasonal color cards for internal cross functional teams and external partners.
! Help to ensure execution of ‘critical color match’ between garment components and trims.
! Organize and update approved seasonal lab dip notebooks and records of approved lab dips including spectral data (qtx).
! Track and maintain seasonal color development and approval records for all fabrications and communication of information to cross functional teams.
! Maintain accurate color records by utilizing FlexPLM and spreadsheets. Organize and keep an up to date fabric color library complete with testing history and specifications.
! Partner with Apparel Senior Color and Concept Designer to cross check the accuracy of color in seasonal line plans, color ups, development specification packages, samples, bulk production and “buy ready documents.
! Help to resolve color related fabric /material issues that arise in Salesman Samples.
! Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
! BS in Textile Design or related field; may be substituted with relevant ‘color’ experience.
! 2+ years of “color” related work experience in the apparel industry.
! Score between high end of average to superior ranges for color discrimination on the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test (errors = 20 or less).
! Good understanding of performance fabric/materials, mills and color testing standards.
! Computer proficiency with office software: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator and Flex PLM.
! Ability to analyze color information and provide feedback in a concise and understandable manner.
! Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening and clear verbal and written communication.
! Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
! Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks.
