Job Description

Surftech, “The original board manufacturing company,” is in search of a full charge Staff Accountant to join the team in Carlsbad, CA.

Primary responsibility of this role is to maintain and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization by applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that include analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

Job Responsibilities:
• Assist the upper management of the Finance Department with day to day, monthly and year end operations.
• Collection, analyzation and organization of information from the general ledger system. Maintenance of these records and files by preparing and inputting entries and conducting regular reconciliations.
• Assist in preparation of internal and external financial statements.
• Arrange, develop and analyze information scenarios in spreadsheet reports.
• Prepare expense accruals, payments, disbursements and reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed assets, depreciation schedules and disposals.
• Manage bank and credit card data entry, statements and reconciliations.
• Assist in budget and cash flow projections, management and reporting.
• Accounts payable assistance.
• Assist in preparation of payroll and payroll accruals, deductions, etc.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Assist in development and implementation of new accounting procedures as needed.
• Maintain department’s files and documents.
• Uphold confidentiality practices internally and externally.
• Assist in Human Resources.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience in General Ledger management and related responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines by prioritizing workloads.
• Possess excellent analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
• A self-starter with problem solving skills.
• Must have a courteous, friendly, enthusiastic, professional demeanor that acts as a team player in a fast paced environment.
• Proficiency and skill in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point most importantly in Excel).
• NetSuite experience a plus.
• Human Resources experience.
• A motivated individual with creativity and cooperation to assist the growth of the company.
