The Event/Athlete Associate is responsible for bringing brand communications to life via targeted networks of Athletes, Influencers, Ambassadors, Events and Partnerships. This position is responsible for building relationships and managing athletes, influencers, ambassadors, partnerships, and events for all Newell Brands Technical Apparel (NBTA) brands. Working with the Senior Manager Communications, this individual develops the athlete acquisition, maintenance and content strategy including scouting, signing and maintaining relationships with our athlete/influencer community. This position develops and implements relationship strategies for athletes and other groups/organizations as relevant to each brand to create an effective network of diverse, devoted ambassadors to promote the brand stories and products in a variety of channels, both physical and digital. This role also coordinates and assists in the development and procurement of all content, imagery and video as it pertains to the brand Athlete/Ambassador/influencers.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
• University or four-year college degree in Business, Marketing or Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of 3 years of athlete/influencer experience or similar management experience required, preferably in the active-outdoor industries
• Strong knowledge of and participation in outdoor activities and travel
• Understanding of communication channels and platforms and their requirements as it pertains to content distribution including web, social, and mobile
• Experience in contract negotiations and working with legal teams on contracts
• Proven experience and understanding of event execution
• Practical knowledge of other functions including sourcing, design, marketing, wholesale sales, merchandising, inventory planning and distribution
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
• Able to travel about 25-30% of the year, including international travel
