Position Overview:
Want to play a big role in shaping the future of bike brands? It’s not every day you get the chance to develop bikes from the ground up. What we’re offering is, just that, the opportunity to work on a portfolio of uniquely positioned consumer bike brands – to help us imagine the future of the bicycle. This position demands creativity, a keen sense of the market and the ability to bring good ideas to life. Your creativity, ability to produce “on brand” products and adventurous spirit will be rewarded in this position.

Responsibilities:
• Ability to take great ideas and apply them to bicycle design ways that align with brand direction
• Harness your talent to cultivate innovation, seek-out good ideas and to drive quality
• Develop, write and edit compelling product briefs for bikes that meet consumer needs
• Collaborate with engineers and hold accountability for maintaining development milestones
• Guide prototype creations through sample and compliance processes, collaborating closely with these groups to ensure specification and prototypes are accurate, meet design intention and safety standards
• Accountable for providing market research to forecasting and sales teams
• Manage BOM’s and ensure integrity of information throughout the organization – websites, catalogs, technical documents, etc.
• Own relationships with trading partners and bike factories to ensure best possible pricing and delivery
• Travel internationally to audit factories, oversee pilot production runs, manage relationships and attend key OEM shows.

Job Requirements

Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar product development role
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with outstanding attention to detail
• Adept at managing cross-cultural communications and traveling internationally
• Cycling knowledgeable a must
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Additional Aptitudes:
• A keen understanding of what it means to work as part of a team – driving team success
• A deep understanding that constructive feedback is not personal – it’s always about applying your passion to what’s best for the brand, a project or the company
• Make positive contributions to the company beyond the scope of normal job responsibilities
• Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
• Be flexible – easily adaptable to change and fluid situations
