To start, this position will be full time, in person, working from our San Clemente office. For outstanding candidates, we can explore a hybrid office / WFH schedule, once up to speed.

POSITION SUMMARY //

Seea is seeking a Merchandising Manager to lead and drive Seea’s product assortment and merchandise categories, including building the product life-cycle roadmap. This is a newly created position, designed to partner with finance and production to refine our pricing and gross margin strategies, and to identify short and long-term growth opportunities for our growing line of products. This role will work very closely with the Design, Production, Product Development, E-Commerce, Retail, Marketing and Finance teams. Serving as the strategic business driver, you will ensure that product and presentation not only enhances our brand, but always maintains brand integrity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //

• Drive the seasonal merchandising process, from concept to delivery
• Manage the global merchandising strategy for all product categories
• Track business performance; identify risks and opportunities for reacting to current markets
• Successfully execute of a line plan of assigned product categories that deliver our design vision while meeting sales, gross margin and inventory productivity goals
• Direct assortment plans for each merchandise category and channel, by delivery, to achieve the right balance of key items, price point, SKU count and volume
• Manage, refine, and restructure the Seasonal Sales & Production Calendar to ensure development milestones are met and final production is received on time
• Generate and distribute monthly sales reports; analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and class
• Develop and maintain effective communication with wholesale sales staff, marketing, ecommerce, production, and design
• Collaboratively and proactively identify and resolve any quality concerns, technical issues, and production roadblocks
• Lead pre-line presentations to colleagues and key accounts, as required; Direct review meetings, including edits, board reviews, pre-costing, line reviews, adoption and post-season reviews
• Manage fabric projections in partnership with the production and design teams
• Partner with production and design to source new suppliers and vendors and maintain relationships with existing partners; direct problem solving and negotiations
• Lead and track implementation of assortment plans across categories and channels; analyze product performance, market conditions and feedback from customers continuously; update assortment strategies and identify and execute opportunities based on analysis
• Maintain and demonstrate constant understanding of the competitive environment
• Monitor and evaluate performance of individuals and team(s)
• Lead and mentor a team to meet department goals and work on their individual growth plans
• Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines based on business priorities
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS //

• Is highly analytical, and excels at planning and timeline management
• 3-5 years of experience in apparel merchandising or buying; significant relevant experience in development, design, production and buying; previous responsibility as a merchandiser
• Work authorization (Required)
• Relevant Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
• 2 years of management experience (Preferred)
• Knowledge of current market trends and the swim/surf market
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong business acumen
• Understanding of retail math
• Knowledge of garment construction
• Strong passion for sustainability, systems design and supply chain management
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Be willing to travel domestically or internationally as needed
• Advanced knowledge of Excel mandatory. Familiarity with Monday.com, Shopify, and Cin7 (or other relevant CRM / PLM programs) desirable
• Ability to motivate and mentor a team
