Job Description

Opportunity for an Eyewear Product Developer to join our fast growing business designing and distributing an industry leading collection of premium goggles, performance and active lifestyle sunglasses, helmets, gloves and sportswear that is designed specifically for today's demanding rider in the global Cycling, Mountain Bike and General Leisure markets.

The position reports to the CEO and with minimal supervisions will be responsible for managing the development milestones for 100%’s growing eyewear line from design hand-off through QA of first delivery. The Eyewear Product Developer will work with all members of the team, ensuring successful development and introduction of the entire Eyewear product line.

The ideal candidate is an experienced and passionate Developer with experience in Performance and Active Lifestyle Eyewear. They must be able to successfully operate in a growing and evolving organization, handle multiple priorities and work closely with peers to achieve success

Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead process for all design and prototype development from concept kick-off to final sample approval across eyewear line, ensuring high quality, on-time completions
- CAD/Technical Issues
- Material Issues and Approvals
- Color Kit Approval
- Style # / Name Assignment
- Tooling Process
- All packaging, cases and components
- Communicate with current manufacturer and supply chain partners to manage current development, investigate and source new materials, techniques and options and ensure successful execution
- Cultivate and research additional suppliers and vendors as needed
- Maintain and monitor design development calendar
- Request and maintain all technical/dimensional information for each style relating to construction and composition
- Review samples with all groups within company for final approvals
- Maintain records of all prototypes, samples and approvals
- Work with Creative Director and Design team on color choices, color code and name maintenance.
- Maintain wholesale pricing data
- Collaborate with Supply Chain for vendor assignment, pricing analysis, materials, components and scheduling capacities
- Research, source and recommend new materials and techniques
- Maintain daily communication with all vendors pertaining to progress of designs and prototypes
- Maintaining VLP including all color, material and style details to be referenced company-wide for each season launch
- Gather direct market research and work closely with sales team to ensure product line meets channel and consumer needs
- Communicate proactively with all supporting teams - design, marketing, athlete support, purchasing, sales and senior leadership owners - to ensure required product or information is received by necessary deadlines
- Communicate with partners on collab or any licensed elements
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Bachelor degree or equivalent in experience and training required
Minimum 5 years experience in product development
Knowledge of eyewear industry required, performance eyewear experience strongly preferred
Excellent project management skills and experience managing large projects.
Solid working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, online calendar and project management (such as Asana, Basecamp, Dapulse), PLM systems, Illustrator and CAD
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work with individuals on a global level
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent organization skills, detail oriented and ability to multitask
Flexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction
Ability to travel domestic and international
Enthusiasm and passion for active lifestyle, particularly two wheeled sports a big plus!
