Job Description

The Product Development Manager contributes to HUF’s success, growth and profitability by working closely with the product and design teams to ensure proper execution of garments and accessories while maintaining design vision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned on an as needed basis.)

• Include but not limited to the development, execution and production delivery of category product. Work in tandem with the cross functional team to insure quality, saleable product with on time delivery.

• Work with merchandising on proposed product mix, design, aesthetic and target IMU goals. Develop sourcing structure to support merchandising vision. (Ensure all factories as CSCC Compliant and new vendors/factories are set up in system).

• Negotiate with vendors, factory to achieve costs in order to meet target wholesale and gross margin targets. Suggest alternatives when relevant.

• Establish and monitor time/action calendars to hit target calendar dates including samples and bulk production.

• Execute and oversee development with sourcing partners (domestic and overseas)

o Track all development (fabric, trims, lab dips, development samples and wash standards, salesman samples, artwork execution approvals).
o Meet sample deadlines as established by Merchandising.
o Set up and monitor the development & sample tracking logs.
o Communicate relevant the fit/visual comments to overseas partners.

• Execute and oversee production with sourcing partners (domestic and overseas)
a. Send initial buys to factories and production. Confirm costs and OB Dates.
b. Issue production purchase orders for USA, Canada, and Australia & Europe.
c. Ensure vendor confirmation forms are on file.
d. Validate purchase order information (meets compliance requirements and guidelines)
e. Handle all chase buys directly from Merchants ensuring that reorder buys match needs
f. Track purchase orders from origin, through logistics and into distribution centers.
g. Manage all aspects of B/C, ensuring all data is complete and updated.
h. Communicate with Sales, Sales Support, M & D, Sourcing and Distribution Center as needed on production issues and/or concerns.

Collaborate with Merchandising team on:
• Sourcing structure and strategy to leverage both short and long term target (Vendor score card system). Establish and monitor Time/Action Calendars to hit target calendar dates (insuring sample and bulk deliveries). Collaborate to increase efficiencies on fabric, trims, and costing to achieve IGP goals. Plan greige commitments where relevant. Book long term basic programs where relevant.
Attend Fit Sessions
• Ensure that factories not only ship initial orders but are able to react and ship chase/reorder buys.




Job Requirements

• 3+ years’ product development experience in a supervisory capacity
• Knowledge of the market and industry
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent networking skills, especially with regard to distribution channels
• Strong motivational skills, especially when it comes to leading a team
• Experience in Product Development
• Must have knowledge of PowerPoint and have strong Excel skills. In Excel, must know how to create spreadsheets and run reports with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Full right to work in the U.S. on a permanent, unrestricted basis
