What We're Looking For: Retail Apparel Buyer

• Work with the buying team to execute day to day buying activities
• Prepare and report on regular replenishment orders and pre-season orders and forecasts
• Research, implement, and keep track of category purchasing, demand planning, and logistics
• Communicate effectively with key suppliers to review and resolve any discrepancies

Business Development & Strategic Planning

• Analyze and be on the lookout for exciting new business opportunities
• Develop sales and business development strategies to firmly position Gear Co-op as a leading retailer of outdoor gear within the industry
• Stay on top of competitors' promotions, sales, and growth

Merchandising

• Ensure products are merchandised properly on the website, Amazon.com, and in-store
• Analyze sales figures and trends to anticipate future product needs, identify emerging industry trends, and prioritize areas of focus

What You've Got:

• 3-5 years of experience as a professional buyer with a large retailer with big apparel experience.
• Amazon experience is highly desired.
• Excellent presentation, negotiations and strategic planning skills
• Very strong Excel skills and sales analysis and forecasting prowess
• Experience with Amazon sales and fulfillment services a big plus
• Adaptability to effectively manage within a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment
• Ability to plan, assess, and implement change
• Rock-solid business and financial acumen
• Great reputation as both a team leader and team player
• An unquenchable passion for the outdoors that manifests in your love of climbing, backpacking, backcountry skiing, mountaineering, and other outdoor sports REQUIRED!
