Job Description

Sun Apparel is looking for Customer Service Specialist / Inside Sales Reps!

This position is open in the following city: Fullerton, California

Department: Sales/Customer Service Department
Reports to: Branch Managers
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

General Responsibilities //
Processes orders for merchandise received by mail, telephone, fax, E-mail or personally from customer. Talk with customers by phone or in person and receive orders for product, credit or changes. Contacts active and inactive customers to encourage sales orders. Handles heavy phone activity in a pleasant, professional manner at all times. Helps monitor activities and needs of Customer Service Department

Specific Responsibilities //
• Communicates with other departments and management to resolve problems and expedite work
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes and credits
• Promote products if customers are looking for a specific style, suggest alternatives if specific product is unavailable
• Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
• Inform customer of prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and additional information needed by customer
• Make changes to orders to comply with customer requests, notifies warehouse of changes
• Check e-mail for purchase orders
• Check for orders on company website
• Confirms delivery dates and any pricing changes
• Maintain accurate and organized records for all transactions and conversations
• Records or files copy of orders received
• Monitors scheduled shipments on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates
• Receives and checks customer complaints
• Confers with production, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments
• Generates new repeat sales by contacting active and inactive customers
• Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any issues
• Manages time efficiently, meeting personal goals and work effectively
• Maintains customer name and address data base
• Learns and maintains knowledge of product styles, brands and availability
• Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements //
• BA degree or 2 years industry experience
• Experience in customer service and/or inside sales
• Working knowledge of word, excel, outlook and company software
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Very effective organizational skills
• Excellent written communications skills
• Talent to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions
• Knowledge to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak and communicate well with customers
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Experience dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
