PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to join the J!NX team in San Diego, CA.
J!NX is seeking a Product Development Manager to lead in the production process for Toys & Accessories, serving as a key component in the product development timeline, ensuring that all steps in the production process are completed according to schedule and in adherence to J!NX quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
-Manage all aspects of the product development cycle from concept to delivery, insuring adherence to J!NX quality, cost, and calendar requirements.
-Vet prospective Toy and Accessory vendors, visit existing vendors, and maintain vendor relationships.
-Work with Sales, Production, Creative and BizDev/Licensing departments to determine risks and target costs associated with new product offerings.
-Select ideal vendor for development of toys and accessories.
-Maintain communication with vendors, providing project direction, target costs, production art assets, tech packs, and sample feedback at every stage of development.
-Work with Creative and Production departments to review development samples.
-Manage log of all products in development with details of Vendor, MOQ, price, COO, Lead Time, Target Price, Mold costs, and other associated costs.
-Work with 3rd party laboratories to coordinate product compliance dossiers for each territory and category of product.
-Coordinate product testing with 3rd party laboratories; maintain digital records and log of all test dates, items tested, standard tested to, and final results.
-Coordinate product inspections at the factory level, working with Creative and Production departments to review results and evaluate quality.
-Maintain log of all inspections and results.
-Oversee and build upon our internal quality control system, and work with creative team to identify quality issues, and subsequently work with vendor to remedy problems.
-Maintain log of all QC inspections and results.
-Research products and techniques, develop thorough knowledge of materials and applications, stay on top of trends online, and attending a variety of industry and trade shows.
-Continually research new styles and trends, in addition to new and upcoming offerings available through our existing network of vendors and factories.
-Manage Product Development Associate, mentor and critique.
-Manage Sample Coordinator, mentor and critique.
-Must be able to stay abreast of current trends in the video game and geek community.
-Other duties as required
