We are looking for a creative Apparel Designer with experience in men’s / young men’s lifestyle fashion, and knowledge of a wide and diverse retail customer base and private label. (From Ross to Nordstrom)
JOB OVERVIEW:
Responsible for apparel design across multiple categories such as Denim, Bottoms, Knit Tops, Wovens, Outerwear, Athuleisure, Shorts, Sweaters, Sweatshirts. From concept creation and presentation, silhouette design and artwork, to tech packs, sampling and pre-production.
JOB DUTIES:
• Design multiple categories for men’s lifestyle collections and product for private label
• Create innovative, fashion forward, and commercially viable product cohesively as a collection across all categories
• Execute design from concept, computer sketching, art and presentation cads
• Prepare detailed tech packs, including construction details, fabric and artwork files
• Work with overseas development team on specs and fit
• Follow with development from protos through salesmen sample keep all files updated
• Execute pre-production revisions, and follow through PP and TOP samples.
• Design SMU and special projects on quick turnaround time as needed.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in Apparel Design, Fashion or related field
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in men’s lifestyle apparel industry
• Extensive experience with technical sketching and tech packs
• Experience with fabric, prints and yarn dyes
• Experience in graphic printable design
• Knowledge of specs, measuring and garment construction
• Understanding of garment manufacturing
• Experience working with overseas vendors
