BH North America is looking for a Sr. Account Manager to join their team in Foothill Ranch, CA.

As Sr. accounting Manager you will be responsible but not limited to the following:

• Oversight & management of general ledger, and direction of financial consolidation and month-end closing processes in conjunction with EU Controller
• Comprehensive review with our President of the monthly financial statements along with related brand management reporting.
• Continue to develop and maintain system of controls, policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely recording of Company assets, activities and operations.
• Actively manage staff so that accounting, AP, trade finance and related processes are seamless on a day-to-day basis.
• Primary accounting liaison to sales manager.
• Manage month-end closing procedures in Great Plains software systems, including management of closing of sub-ledgers and comprehensive review of monthly journal entries.
• Management of preparation of financial consolidated month-end financial statements by 25th business day, including comprehensive review and sign-off of account reconciliations, sub-ledgers and other supporting schedules.
• Ensure integrity of consolidated general ledger and review accounts for accuracy and reasonableness.
• Overall maintenance of chart of accounts and general ledger and liaise with outside Auditors on all audit matters.
• By 25th business day, management of completion of monthly close of domestic general ledger for generation of domestic cost center expense reports and distribution to senior management.
• By 25th business day, manage and comprehensive review of global consolidated monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Product Line P&L, and Brand P&L), including budget vs. actual variance analysis.
• By 25th business day, ensure the final distribution of the monthly brand financial statements.
• In addition to the financial statements, generate accompanying management analysis that has been determined by senior management to accompany the monthly reporting package that compares monthly results of operations compared to our Plan.
• Continued development and maintenance of our internal controls related to accounting and general ledger activities. Routine interaction with the President on controls and procedures is a “must do”.
• Continued development of our accounting policies and procedures along with the continued development of our accounting manuals.
• Work with the President to develop and maintain necessary controls over their respective operational functions to ensure proper accounting of those activities are accomplished.
• Primary responsibility for managing audits by independent parties.
• Establish periodic goals and routines for accounting management and staff, including performance criteria, deadlines and reporting systems to monitor performance.
• Monitor activities and performance of Accounting, AP staff. Interact with President on appropriate goals and objectives given the activities being monitored
• Perform periodic reviews of staff and ensure development of staff through training and education.
• Ensure general accounting and external regulatory reporting requirements are met.
• Primary knowledge of accounting software systems functionality, controls and security.
• Work with I.T. department in resolving system issues to ensure proper system financial controls and integrity.
• Primary contact for accounting related matters for department managers.
• Provide assistance to department managers in reporting needs and information.

Job Requirements

These are the qualifications you’ll need:

• Four year college degree in Accounting (i.e. BS or BA in Accounting).
• CPA preferred.
• At least 3+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager in private industry. Industry experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, and wholesale distribution is appropriate.
• Experience working with Great Plains a plus.
• Extensive knowledge and working ability with suite of Microsoft ® product.
• Excellent communication abilities to be able to effectively interact with US and EU staff.
