POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This is an external facing position that will be responsible for the implementation and coordinated development of strategy focused on women’s recruitment, retention, and advancement that are aligned with and support the business goals and culture of Camber Outdoors’ member companies.

This position will be responsible for developing assessments and baselines, toolkits, case studies, and conducting and disseminating research and best practices. He/she will build trusted partnerships with companies to meet them where they are and help them move successfully into their commitment to cultivating workplace cultures where a diversity of ideas and people thrive.

This individual will also work closely with the Camber Outdoors’ leadership team to maximize internal and external visibility of Camber Outdoors’ workplace programs, and align key messages to amplify overarching active-outdoor industries’ strategy around recruitment, retention, and advancement of women leaders.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In support of Camber Outdoors’ member companies’ commitment to women’s advancement and leadership as a strategic business imperative and priority, as embodied in the CEO Pledge:
- Develop and implement metrics, benchmarking, processes, and systems to track Camber Outdoors and its member companies’ progress and successes around goals
- Convene Camber Outdoors’ member company HR teams to facilitate peer mentoring and dissemination of best practices
- Create, update, and deliver field ready change management tools, strategic assessments, and best practices to member companies
- Facilitate, in partnership with an academic partner, a longitudinal 10-year study with 15-20 member companies (Fall 2016)
• Work with Executive Director to develop and refine organizational policy positions and statements
• Strategize, develop, and implement industry-level recruitment plan to attract diverse women to Camber Outdoors’ career center
• Develop and lead executive-level strategy presentations around the advancement and promotion of women to leadership positions
• Develop and maintain primary relationships with external diversity consultants, facilitators, and vendors while monitoring performance against assigned projects
• Partner with organization advisors and leaders to ensure practices and processes support the achievement of workforce diversity and inclusion
• Build, maintain, and protect Camber Outdoors’ brand equity and reputation among key diverse segments

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Program Manager reports to the Director of Member Strategy and Engagement.

Job Requirements

CANDIDATE COMPETENCIES/ QUALIFICATIONS:

The Program Manager position will play a key role in executing Camber Outdoors’ strategic plan. As such, the position requires:

• Love and passion for being outside and active.
• 4+ years’ of management-level experience, with 3+ years’ experience leading organizational change and implementing enterprise-wide initiatives with demonstrated abilities to develop and implement business strategies in a large organization is required.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to make the “business case” for women’s leadership, including the business case for incremental investments.
• Background/education in Human Resources preferred.
• B.A./B.S. required, advanced degree preferred.
• Experience and credibility as a leader in an environment where the ability to influence, work across divisions/organizations and build relationships is critical.
• Highly effective communicator and strategic thinker with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex ideas, unique concepts, and proposals to enroll team, peers, and management.
• Demonstrates superb cross cultural skills with proven ability to successfully approach, build trust and negotiate across multiple cultures, markets, and community/business leaders.
• High-level knowledge of the development, execution, and management of new programs
• Self-starter, comfortable working independently and in teams on project-based work in an unstructured environment.
• High-level organizational skills, with ability to create and monitor plans and timelines.
• Ability to work professionally and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and skills in a team environment.
• Ability to travel to meetings and tradeshows 6-12 times per year.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Superior listening and presentation skills
• Ability to safely lift boxes and other items up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
• Must be able to travel using various transportation methods
• Able to work in a home or office environment

COMPENSATION:

Camber Outdoors is committed to finding the right person. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Camber Outdoors is based in the Denver/Boulder area. All employees are expected to work in the office at least 3 days/week. Camber Outdoors offers a competitive salary based on organizational size that is commensurate with experience ($35-47K/annually). Additional benefits include health insurance, flexible work schedule, and some telecommuting. Opportunities for advancement are available.
