POSITION SUMMARY:

The Planning Manager will be responsible for facilitating growth within department stores and chain, owning account sales, margin and inventory planning based on in-depth analysis as well as topside projections. This position collaborates heavily with sales, demand planning, operations and account partners in order to achieve our financial and company goals. Must be organized, detail and task oriented and able to adapt to a fast-pace and dynamic environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage retailer financials across multiple accounts
Establish and negotiate pre-season top-down sales, inventory, markdown and margin plans with key retail partners
Conduct monthly forecasting updates and lead weekly/monthly calls in order to negotiate expectations in-season based on budgets and performance.
Lead quarterly margin settlement process to achieve financial goals, as well as validate retailer records to support claims/allowances.

Recap and review sales performance based on performance data and current trends
Evaluate KPI to assess sales and shipment risk/opportunity.
Establish and execute strategic plan with key partners via clear action points to circumvent risk or provide resources (ie inventory, marketing) to fulfill incremental opportunity.
Create and manage style/color level projections to drive forecast collaboration process via multiple tools, including ladders, weekly performance trackers.
Lead and facilitate quarterly/seasonal hindsight of assortment productivity by style and distribution in order to make recommendations on how to capitalize on mix and breathe for future growth.
Identify white space and opportunities by region and product group utilizing historical data, current trends as well as market share and insight analytics, to capitalize on new opportunities and identify risks.

Create seasonal strategies to drive division and brand objectives
Prepare seasonal strategy presentations to senior management teams.
Formulate both top-down and bottoms-up sale and shipment targets by retailer and product class
Participate in market appointments for business reviews and facilitate actual purchasing making process

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage roll up of total brand financials and buys across all department stores and chain
Develop and manage direct reports
Drive key initiatives and strategies through analytics, reports and tools that quantify results through structured approach, rigorous analysis, and proactive communication
Find new opportunities and utilize both standardize and automated reports as well as in-depth ad hoc analysis
Quickly establish credibility with and develop effective relationships with key partners internally and externally
Cultivate a supportive, positive, collaborative, results-oriented work environment

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:
5-7+ years of experience in wholesale planning
Experience with national chain / department stores a plus
Management experience preferred

Education: Bachelor of Arts or Science degree

Skills:
Possess a clear understanding of retail math and financial metrics, including sales, gross margin, markup, etc.
Strong communication skills including presenting complex materials in an organized and compelling manner
Ability to manage and work with multiple data sources
Ability to problem solve independently and through collaboration with key partners
Thrives in a dynamic environment with a high degree of ambiguity
Strong Microsoft Office skills are a must (particularly in Excel where pivot tables and v-lookups will be used extensively)
Domestic travel required for business and store branding as needed.
