Associate Designer (Cold Weather) - PVH Corp. Job in New York, VT

The Associate Designer is essential to assisting in building the seasonal development of product from concept to on-time completion in alignment with the division's goals. This includes supporting the design team lead in the creation of Cold Weather accessories through the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, PLM and other software. The Associate Designer is also involved in the administrative functions related to the development of product.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

Understand several design aesthetics for brand development
Design trend right product in collaboration with Cold Weather design lead
Execute and design patterns/layouts for development; including original knit downs, embroidery and applique layouts
Responsible for yarn/fabric quality counter sourcing requests
Responsible for creating lab dip requests, providing lab dip color comments and hand feel comments
Create tech packs and execute tech pack updates.
Participate in the seasonal line presentations to the sales team
Attend and participate in product meetings and fittings
Create compelling trend boards
Generate presentation line sheets
Various other duties, projects and responsibilities may fall under this role on an as needed basis
Conduct seasonal design and market research
Other related job functions are at the discretion of the manager as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 2 to 3 years related experience required
Education: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
Skills: Creative and Driven, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, PLM is a plus.
