About the job


The Director of HR Systems will manage a team responsible for delivering HR Technology projects and enhancements based on customer needs. S/he will have deep expertise in Workday including Core HR, Recruiting, Compensation, Absence, Benefits and Payroll functionality in Workday. This role will also be responsible for maintaining project requests and enhancements within the Zendesk ticketing system. S/he will be a thought leader who recognizes opportunities for efficiencies through technology and works closely with the HR community to deliver on the agreed upon commitments.
Develop a high-functioning team who delivers meaningful and business driven projects and enhancements on-time, within budget and with the required functionality
Develop capabilities within the team to manage projects more efficiently including the development of charter documents, project plans, issue/risk logs, test documents, and migration plans
Manage key initiatives to ensure successful delivery utilizing project management experience
Leverage business knowledge, best practices, and expertise to identify opportunities for process improvements and helping to define both short-term and long-term product strategies
Keep abreast of new Workday functionality for upcoming releases and working with cross-functional teams to determine the best way to leverage new functionality
Identify opportunities for improving the effectiveness of processes, systems, and reports
Lead the mandatory upgrade cycles of Workday by coordinating regression testing and develop communications in collaboration with the communications team
Partner with cross-functional teams in the development, testing and implementation of enhancements for non-mandatory upgrade cycles
Support specific annual events related to the key workstreams, such as Open Enrollment for Benefits and Merit/Bonus process for Compensation and annual true-ups for vacation tracking
Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels in the organization to enable effective utility of Workday
Experience:
Minimum 8+ years overall experience in working with enterprise HRIS applications
Minimum 5+ years overall experience in supporting Workday
5+ years experience in configuration and implementation of Workday HCM solutions (Core HR, Absence, Benefits, and Compensation)
Experience with managing HRIS teams

Education: Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline

Skills:
Deep knowledge of Workday HCM functional and business process configuration and testing
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a process orientation ability to capture and document processes via both narratives and diagrams
Demonstrated team management and development skills
Builds and maintains excellent relationships with stakeholders to ensure that operational business needs are met
Advanced skills in MS Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
