About the job
The Technical Design Manager, Bras will be responsible for overall accountability for product integrity and interpretation for fit and functionality with respect to design, fabrics, trims, manufacturing, quality, and cost.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Influences and drives company strategy that relates to pad development
Works directly with raw material supplier (i.e. chemical, foam and textile companies to achieve the latest and most innovative product information in the business)
Partner with vendors on cross function teams creating recommendations or solutions to ensure design intent is achieved.
Manage the activities of the entire Core Intimates technical design staff
Create and maintain the tools of the department and distribute to cross-functional teams to ensure utilization each season. These tools include construction standards, Block Packages, and SOPs.
Coach and guide the technical team by setting standards in conduct and product
Host meetings with design and merchants to drive alignment on brand / department standards at all levels
Set up systems to function to the standards of the brand / department. Systems include tech pack templates, tracking reports, etc.
Partner closely with Core Intimates Design team to fully understand design aesthetic, calling out where standards are being deviated from and persuading (where possible) back to standard
Develop and understand fit for all merchandise categories within Core intimates Brands.
Participate in fit meetings to ensure that design details are accurately translated

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience in the following areas:
Strong pad and pattern making and grading knowledge across different size ranges
Supervising staff
Managing budget
Pattern Making
Project Management
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication
Education: Bachelors Degree in Design/Pattern Making or Textiles
Skills: Light PC skills; PDM
