POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director IT Operations is responsible for global oversight of Operational processes as they apply to the enterprise wide production environments, including services hosted both on and off premises, Co-Locations, Cloud as well as SAAS environments. The Director is responsible for all aspects of Incident/Problem Management as it relates to IT Operations. Maintaining availability across all platforms is critical, therefore this position will be responsible to identify, implement and ensure execution of processes and technology advancements. This position will also ensure the critical operations of the 24X7, 365 Command Center which includes maintaining network reliability, ensuring on time production processing and assisting in the development of a functional disaster recovery plan.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

The Director recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
The Director is expected to monitor vendors, service providers and equipment performance daily; as well as preparing forecasts of future utilization and equipment requirements. This includes generating and monitoring billing information in a timely and efficient manner.
Prepares the short and long-range Operations expense budget.
Prepares the short and long-range Operations department capital budget.
Responsible for maintaining relationships with other IT groups which contribute in the delivery of solutions to the business.
Oversees the economical and effective utilization of production facilities and resources including personnel and equipment.
Participates in the planning of future hardware, software and personnel needs.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of data center mechanical, electrical and controls systems to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and emergency maintenance.
Maintains command and control of the Severity 1 Response Team during all Severity 1 Incidents.
Participates in development of procedural and physical security standards for Operations functions to protect the security of the installation, the data processed by the department and its personnel, programs and the computer equipment that performs the necessary processing.
Works with management to coordinate and improve Operations service level agreements.
Plans and facilitates annual Business Continuity Testing for Computer Operations.
Leads, manages and coaches the Data Center Operations team. Responsible for creating training plan/model as legacy technology phases out and new technology is introduced which will required skill set change.
Participate in the monitoring of asset management for all hardware and maintenance within the Corporate Data Center.
Participate in the installation/removal of computer, network, and environmental hardware
Estimates resources requirements and the cost of maintaining distributed systems services to insure both flexibility and machine capacity to meet system requirements
The Director prepares budgets and related financial documents, and is responsible for the attainment of a high ROI on new projects to be undertaken.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in computer operations, production scheduling, and data management.
8+ years of operational experience
5+ years experience in a managerial position

Education:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

Skills:
Demonstrable ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams.
Track record of successfully scaling facilities, processes, and teams.
Functional knowledge of critical environment mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
Experience developing and managing capital and operating expense budgets.
Experience in vendor and supplier performance management.
Proven track record of leadership roles in 24x7 operational support teams
Experience managing hybrid environments with both on and off premises services
Possess interpersonal and relationship building skills
Hyper focus on our customers experience
Demonstrated time management and able to multi-task efficiently
Willing to be a leader and provide mentorship to others
Experience in new data center deployments or expansion of existing data centers is ideal.
Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
Experience with information technology infrastructure including datacenter facilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Experience with physical layer infrastructure and testing tools
Working knowledge of physical IT infrastructure (compute, network, storage)
Understanding of network concepts (switching, routing, perimeter security)
Familiarity with infrastructure applications (DNS, Active Directory, etc.)
Ability to articulate complex ideas, comprehend written and verbal communications, and possess excellent presentation skills.
