Job Description

The Digital Asset Librarian is responsible for the day-to-day management of assets within The Marketing Group DAM and MAM platforms, including facilitating user administration, permissions, metadata and asset tagging, storage management, and user onboarding & training. This ideal candidate should have operational experience with an asset management platform, ideally in a media post-production environment.

Responsible for the daily management of content on the platforms, including assigning metadata and keywords, uploading/archiving content, folder and file management, and troubleshooting
Perform recurring audits of system assets, their metadata, and the surrounding workflows as they intersect with the DAM Repository as a way to track metadata accuracy, compliance with tagging workflow and strategy, and asset life cycle behaviors
Maintain user guides and best practices while maintaining governance models, procedures, policies and change rationale for the metadata, taxonomy and controlled vocabularies
Register and train internal and external users
Regularly review the quality of search results to meet customer, vendor and partner demand for asset access
Act as an escalation point for all metadata issues
Provide training and ongoing support on DAM functionality and best practices in order to meet business goals and objectives
Establish priorities for enhancement within the user community
Oversee the communication and socialization of DAM system capabilities and best practices for asset upload, use and archiving
Identify, plan, and deliver a wide range of tasks and operational methods surrounding digital assets, including digital asset identification, audits and reporting, trouble-shooting, end user training, metadata manipulation and updating, search and retrieval, and archiving.

3-5 years of experience as point person for a DAM system, preferably within a marketing department or apparel industry

Education: Higher Education Degree such as Library Science (MLIS), related degree, or commensurate experience

Firm knowledge of metadata and taxonomy application for system navigation, content search and retrieval
Understanding of multiple digital file formats, and knowledge of workflow management systems
Excellent soft skills including planning, communications, and meeting facilitation
A working knowledge of rights management procedures
Strong time management and organizational skills, with the proven ability to prioritize a large volume of work effectively and efficiently with tight deadlines
Evidence of strong communication skills and ability to build good customer relationships with stakeholders, influencers and technical team members
Must have proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Previous project management experience a plus
Must be knowledgeable on scaling DAM systems, workflow improvement and user adoption strategies
