As our Design Operations Manager, you will be responsible for design operations, including calendar, design tools, and resource allocation to ensure timelines and business objectives are met. In partnership with design leadership, you'll shepherd the seasonal workload and process, build and maintain strong relationships with the product creation team, and provide experiences and guidance that maintains the highest level of competency among designers.
\nReporting into the VP Global Design Director this role is a new role within our TH Menswear Teams. The Sportwear collections are launched four times a year. The special projects capsules are ongoing and vary in size and scale per season, current projects include Lewis Hamilton x Tommy Hilfiger, Rossignol and Mercedes Benz. Our Tommy Hilfiger Sportswear collection is designed and developed from our HQ in Amsterdam.
\nThis role would be link through the development process between our design team, Merchandising, Sourcing & Production and Buying & Planning and would focus on driving the Design areas organizationally.
\nThis role will manage & own the calendars for both Sportswear and Special Projects teams, to ensure all deadlines and key milestones are met.
\nYou will have an overview on the whole collection for both Tommy Sportswear collections and Special Projects collections. And ensure all deadlines are met on time, with impeccable deliverables.
\nEnsuring the calendar is followed and ensure preparation for GAM (Global Alignment Meetings), Market Launch responsible for all practical elements to ensure success of the launches and the collections. Co-ordinating cross functional teams (Design, merch, PD) to ensure all milestones are met and carried out to the highest standard by each segment of that triangle.
\nAlign and work closely between the Design and Merchandising team. Working closely with Design Directors. Ensure all related information concerning commerciality, sales information, pricing and range build is clearly communicated and upheld between the design team and merchandising team.
\nSpearhead the Digital design processes together with Design Directors and STITCH team to ensure the processes evolve within the division and ensures more speed to market.
\nResponsible for tracking all proto and fit samples for each collection with Product Development, as well as pro-active planning.
\nWill help manage the Tommy Hilfiger Sportswear and Special Projects studio and output from both design teams, in tandem with Design Directors.
\nFind solutions for any related issues for sampling, production, build up, margins and pricing.
\nDegree at bachelor level preferably a fashion/design/development related
\nMinimum 8+ years related experience in (a) leading Mens brand(s), with experience of working on runway/collection teams
\nVery commercial mentality.
\nAble to develop strong working relationships with management and external resources
\nDemonstrated leadership capabilities, and able to drive others
\nFluent in English with Italian as a plus
\nGarment and Fabric knowledge a plus.
\nCapable of working in a dynamic and always changing environment
\nOpen communicator and able to work with a number of personalities
\nAble to travel globally
