Department Description:
The Tommy Hilfiger Underwear division works on a half year calendar and contains Underwear/Loungewear/Swimwear and Sleepwear collections for Men, Women and Kids. The Tommy Hilfiger Sport department is part of the TH Underwear division.

Position Description
The Technical Designer will report into the Technical Manager. This position is an additional role making the team of 3 technical designers here in Amsterdam, with an additional 1 team member based in Hong Kong and another 2 team members in Vietnam.The Technical Designer is responsible for the fit, the graded specs and the quality assurance of the European developed styles. The Technical Designer works in close cooperation with the designers and development teams from the different product categories, which mainly work out of the Amsterdam head office.
\nThe Technical Designer is responsible for:
\n\nCreate measurement charts, style reviews, and graded specs for shapes in collaboration with pattern cutter and suppliers, and upload all relevant information to PLM
\nAttend and lead (were appropriate) the fitting sessions for TH Lounge, Mens & Womens & Tommy Sports, Mens & Womens.
\nCollaborate closely with Design, Merchandising and Product Development throughout the development process, providing advice and comments regarding technical feasibility of design
\nControlling and establishing a consistent fit and specs for all TH Lounge, Tommy Sports lines.
\nLiaise with Design to identify new shapes, fabrics, wash, and constructions, and perform trials to test new designs
\nEnsuring that the technical team executes all technical issues in accordance to the company standards and guidelines.
\nLiaise with vendors, Buying Offices, and Central Quality Assurance during production, in case of complications or additional required information / guidance for fit and construction
\nHighlight risks regarding fit, fabric, and construction to Product Development and Central Quality Assurance, and action wearer trials (e.g. wash trials)
\nEntering and working in PLM
\n\nTo achieve this, the key success factors are:
\n\nA solid knowledge of Bodywear, Lounge, Sports on women and mens wear, fitting and pattern making and production process.
\nFull awareness of the international Mens and Womens body measurements and sizing system.
\nWillingness to travel and work the majority of his/her time in factories where production takes place max once per season.
\nAbility to communicate to the point, professionally and openly with vendors and team members to optimize product development, quality and production processes
Position Requirements
\nEducation: Fashion Education and/or relevant technical / pattern degree
\nAt least 5 years working experience in field of Bodywear, Lounge, Outerwear (sportwear) and Sports.
\nExtensive pattern and grading knowledge.
\nKnowledge of Pattern Design and Marker making systems (Gerber/Lectra is a plus).
\nStrong analytical skills with attention to detail.
\nWillingness to travel to either Europe or Asia.
\nSelf-supportive mindset and must be a team player.
\nAbility to easily connect with people.
\nFlexible and hands-on mentality.
\nPro-active can do attitude.
\nExcellent written and spoken language skills in English.
\nThis position is for 40 hours per week.
