Job Description

The Senior Copywriter will be responsible for executing copy tasks at both a high level and a very granular one, focusing on the big picture as much as the fine details of each project. The ideal candidate has a robust portfolio demonstrating strong omni-channel experience and a diverse copy background rooted in both traditional marketing principles and also new media markets. This individual should thrive in a fast paced environment, be capable of juggling multiple projects at a time, and is expected to actively contribute to the development of original solutions and create polished, final deliverables whether working solo or under the guidance of the Senior Copy Manager.

The Senior Copywriter will work on projects including but not limited to naming and tag line creation, to writing voice-over copy, targeted media ads, email copy, and should be very familiar with the SEO requirements of both e-commerce sites and PDP copy. This person needs a varied voice and can adopt it for different brands from traditional mens sportwear, to Olympic-level swimwear, womens intimates, and more.

A key cross-functional team member, the Senior Copywriter will be a dedicated team player who works well under pressure with the ability to prioritize tasks according to the business needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for their work, enjoy learning and working on new platforms, have a quick wit, and have excellent copy edit skills.

Board of Director-level presentation writing, leadership experience, and familiarity with legal clearance a plus.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Write copy for a variety of Heritage Brands, across projects, from product naming, to POS to PDP copy
Create email and search-engine optimized site copy that supports the business objectives, is fueled by best practices, and works within the framework of various platform/design templates
Collaborate with creative team members to determine the conceptual and copy direction of various advertising and marketing initiatives
Proof copy on final deliverables
Write copy for a variety of Heritage Brands, across projects, from product naming, to POS to PDP copy
Create email and search-engine optimized site copy that supports the business objectives, is fueled by best practices, and works within the framework of various platform/design templates
Collaborate with creative team members to determine the conceptual and copy direction of various advertising and marketing initiatives
Proof copy on final deliverables
Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts
Work closely with copy and creative team to ensure tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style of each brand
Support the Senior Copy Manager in day-to-day operations
Self-manage workload
Complete copy projects on time, ensuring adequate time for revisions, legal clearance, and business reviews


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:
5+ yrs. copy experience in advertising, in-house marketing agency or related shop
Varied copy for different brands focused on performance sportswear, menswear and fitness brands intimate collections a plus
Print, digital, and e-commerce experience required
Strong advertising writing with demonstrated VO and scripting work
Experience with Amazon A+/A++, web collage, Facebook Creative Hub, and all social platforms
High-level business presentation writing, leadership experience, and familiarity with legal clearance a plus

Education: BA in English, journalism, communications or a related field

Ability to actively contribute to strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution
