As our Sr. Demand Planner you'll position PVH business unit through proactive mid-to-long range demand forecasting/planning to support capacity requirements and business strategies. You will provide management guidance and hands-on action planning for the demand planning department. This position will enable you to create the focus areas in the demand planning team such as segment (core, core+, fashion); generate backward guidance to inventory / fulfillment teams to accelerate or re-position already set supply plans; and build the right mix of actions to improve forecast accuracy and forecast stabilization activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Demand planning improvement comes with your efforts to build stronger integration on planning to inventory and supply planning peers, so that demand variances are proactively managed upstream and potential customer service impact (e.g., re-forecasting) is more positively impacted.
You will assure timely and accurate communication of monthly, weekly, and statistical adjusted forecasts using advanced planning software (JDA).
Build and develop a set of forecasting analysts that consistently meet or exceed expectations by developing and assuring compliance with standard operating procedures, ensuring appropriate training and feedback, and increasing the commercial aptitude. Through this action, you will set benchmarks and milestones in planning.
Lead and influence demand planning strategies in order to maximize customer fill rates, minimize distressed sales (vendor allowances), and minimize inventory redistribution due to forecast error, and decrease forecast variances which negatively impact supply planning. Build the appropriate mix of demand planning approaches with product and life-cycle segmentation, use of point of sale (POS) data, and attribution. .
Improve core+ product planning through more effective application of statistical models to the right attributes.
Set measurable goals, monitor forecast error and develop action plans to improve color/style, sub-class, category, and sales channel forecast at both the account and distribution center (DC) level.
Drive the monthly demand and supply consensus review process (as part of integrated business planning, IBP). Provide to team and process the full complement of data, inputs, and analysis. Coordinate the right balancing to maintain both front-end (fill rates, service, sales) goals and back-end (supply chain costs, lead times).
Create tangible integration between demand and supply through improved constraint management, balanced prior forecast variances, and joint decision making. Show evidence that risk mitigation improves.
Work closely with customer service and fulfillment to ensure order book adheres to forecast expectations and buying calendar rules. Provide necessary insight into sales strategies that relate to order fulfillment.
Engage and build upon key relationships with sales, operations, supply planning and finance to assure accurate and timely forecast inputs and a more optimized order fulfillment model.
Own the monthly collaboration process with sales and customer. Build this framework and needed business, data process.
Establish reporting to quickly identify forecast variances by planner, account, channel, DC and segment.
Support the needed enhancements that are required in the JDA tools through the established governance process.
Analyze historical demand, filter out outliers/exceptions, identify the most appropriate statistical forecasting algorithm, develop base plan, understand variance, propose improvement opportunities, communicate agreements, incorporate demand signal into forecast.
Measure, analyze, and report key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs). Extend over time the appropriate mix of new planning metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
5-7 years professional experience, with a minimum of 7 in supply chain, business planning, or operations
Direct or indirect relationship through work in such areas as planning, inventory management, commercial analysis, operations, buying/procurement, financial analysis, and/or logistics/distribution.
2-4 years experience with a leading forecasting solution / tool such as JDA Demand, i2 Demand, SAP APO, Manugistics, Logility Demand, Steelwedge, Kinaxis, Oracle
Experience in collaborative or integrated planning process required
Strong business judgment, planning and allocation skills
Strong overall systems background with touch-point to either leading ERP or MRP process
Consumer products company, preferred, fast moving consumer goods in multi-channel business highly desirable
Exposure to manufacturing or retail environments highly valued
JDA Collaborate highly desirable
APICS certification not required but highly valued
