Supervise the day-to-day operations of the data center; ensure efficiency of equipment, production schedule, and employee resources.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Supervise and direct the work of data center personnel. Review performance and create employee work evaluations, implement training to meet employee development needs, and meet regularly with staff to gather and disseminate information.
Manage 24/7/365 operation staffing to insure appropriate coverage at all times.
Ensure that all uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) system, including standbygenerator, security access system, and HVAC, are in working order, and respond to problems or arranges for repair as necessary.
Develop and maintain Computer Operations' emergency response and recovery procedures.
Create, Update, and maintain SOPs for operations staff.
Ability to work and coordinate with other departments to resolve issues.
Assist with the execution of change-control procedures.
Serve as system administrator for automated job scheduling and distributed systems.
Ensure that adequate inventory and supplies are available for production.
Participate in planning of data center equipment utilization, inventory, and disaster recovery. Maintain records and statistics of data processing productivity.
Manage and coordinate tape library, including review and analysis, and storage activity of the main tape library, maintains close communication with off-site tape storage vendor.
Review and manage resource assignments based on urgency of requests.
Partner with management to implement policies, procedures and quality standards regarding authorization, incident/problem management and data recovery.
Responsible for developing and maintaining service-level agreements with the various user departments and company business units.
Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, including technical guidance and performance review. Oversee a team of Datacenter Operators.
Performs additional related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data center operations.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration is required.
Demonstrate knowledge in network equipment and security, disaster discovery procedures, and database management.
Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization; strong customer service skills, quality, and results orientation.
Ability to articulate complex ideas, comprehend written and verbal communications, and possess excellent presentation skills.
