Department description
Within the Tommy Hilfiger Menswear division, the Merchandising department fulfills a central role. It is the link between the Wholesale and Retail teams (via Sales Manager and Retail Department) and Design and Product Development on the other side.
\nThe department makes range plans for the various collections, sets sales targets and margin targets and is closely involved together with Design and Product Development in building collections that are true to the Brand, in tune with market developments and commercially successful both at wholesale (sell-in) and at retail (sell-out).

Project Description
The Merchandising intern supports the Menswear Merchandising team and will get the opportunity to experience all the different stages of the go-to market process.
\nA special divisional project during the internship period will be defined based on our interns interests and skills. Besides this project, key responsibilities include:
\n\nProvide market intelligence and feedback by being aware of key competitors and trends
\nSupport the merchandising teams with preparation of key milestones: line reviews, global alignment meetings, and market launch events
\nSupport the merchandising team during and after sell-in season (sales memos, weekly sales overviews, country additions)
\nEstablish a close relationship with all Merchandising team members and cross functional partners to ensure smooth communications, and efficient execution
\nProactively help with improvement of merchandising processes and tools
\n\n
\nLearning Objectives:
\n\nGain insight and understanding of all aspects of a full collection development cycle, from planning to collection reviews to the final launch of a product and in-season sales;
\nIn-depth knowledge of the merchandising process while working together with design, production and sales teams;
\nGain an understanding of a collection build up that meets the needs of the market, based on historical numbers, trend-forecasting, and sales feedback.

Requirements
\nIt is mandatory that you are still enrolled in a university or school program (Business Administration, Fashion Management, or similar) at the start date of the internship. Please note this is not a thesis-oriented internship but more to gain experience in a global work environment.
\nThe candidate must be eligible to work in the EU
\nStart date: February 2020; Duration: 6 months

\nYou have an affinity/knowledge in the apparel & fashion world
\nInterest in Merchandising and Fashion; having retail / commercial experience is a plus
\nYou are highly organized with the ability to plan according to priority and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
\nYou have good knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word
\nYou have strong communication skills, high proficiency in English (both speaking and writing)
\nYou have a flexible attitude and a strong work ethic
\nYou have a good understanding of Tommy Hilfiger DNA and brand awareness
\nYou are willing to learn and push your boundaries!
