POSITION SUMMARY:
The Designer II supports the CK Calvin Klein bridge line in designing the seasonal collections for Mens Knits & Sweaters.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Interprets the seasonal mood and concept working with the Senior Designer
Designs & prepares concept and design presentation boards for meetings.
Responsible for hand-sketching and updating artworks and designs.
Ensures timely development of line by adhering to time and action calendar
Assists with prototype fittings
Organizes and maintains library of knits and sweaters, sketches and seasonal files
Communicate and liaise all seasonal design with and to Licensee in Asia
Responsible for researching and development of knits and sweaters under the guidance of the Senior Designer.
Presents sketch designs based on the Sr Designers initial sketches and concept.
Maintains the progression of design in the Senior Designers absence.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of previous work experience within a Design setting
Education: Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design
Skills:
Strong technical experience in knits and sweaters.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong hand-sketching skills
Possess high fashion aesthetics
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Flexibility to deadline demands, seasonal schedules and to travel

Internal: Design, Product Development, Merchandising, Supply teams

External: Licensees, vendors

DECISION MAKING: Strong influence on creative direction

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: Highly creative role requiring strong understanding of fashion industry trends for fabric and apparel. Must be resourceful in locating or developing new fabrics/finishes/technology for use in CK Calvin Klein line.

ENVIRONMENT: Highly creative, deadline-driven environment requiring ability to be flexible with hours and adapt to a deadline-focused calendar-based structure is a must.
