Department Information
The PVH Footwear division consists of the following teams:
\n\nMerchandising Responsible for the planning and implementation of a successful product strategy which meets the territory specific product requirements and delivers on sales, productivity and margin targets
\nDesign drives the visual creation of the product line, working closely with Creative Direction in NY, Merchandising and PD in order to bring the product vision to life
\nProduct Development drives the development process of product made for the European market. Working closely with Merchandising, Design, FTW buying office in Asia, and planning teams in order to deliver high-quality, profitable collections on-time to market
\nSales Ensure effective and consistent communication between division, country sales and retail. Supports the presentation of collections to country sales teams and key accounts

Position Description
The role of the Product Development Manager Mens Footwear is to manage the Product Development process within the different product lines for the PVH Footwear business, on a daily base from creative concept into pre-production stage with Design and Product Development located in Amsterdam, Italy, NY and China.
\nReporting into the Senior Product Development manager. S/he manages and drives the development and pre-production process with all relevant parties involved (Design, Merchandising, Sales, Product Development), in order to achieve commercial product execution align with corporate goals, the calendar (critical path) and financial key performance.
\nWith an extensive Footwear knowledge of the entire product development process, as well as technical construction and execution on the product, costing and vendor relations, the Product Development Manager is the key supporting figure and link throughout the entire development process from SRF (sketch request form) into SMS (Salesmen Samples) with everyone involved.

\nJob Function:
\n\nActively participate in the development process by offering advice and suggestions on construction techniques, material and component selection and cost saving opportunities, without compromising the key objective
\nControl margin developments and strategically steer the product developments as well as pre-production to meet both customers and corporate needs
\nDevelop, produce and deliver product on time within the development process, up until SMS stage
\nBe the gatekeeper and problem solver of potential risks along the development process, partner with Q and A
\nSupport Design with a great understanding of design, development and merchandising process from the creative concept into pre-production
\nAbility to interpret design intent and offer suitable solutions for each individual purpose and make from a 2 D design a 3 D product
\nThink innovative and sustainable in all aspects (process, material, product)
\n
Position Responsibilities
\nKey Communicators across all stakeholders including Design, Merchandising, and Dongguan Buying office. Drive and be accountable for ensuring clear communication and interaction is in place on specific tasks
\nBe the link between all parties involved, keep track of the Calendar and manage product and target expectations (own the collection)
\nManage the development process into pre-production along the calendar to achieve commercial execution (market needs) as well as financial goals (target FOBs) through collaboration with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, Costing and Quality Assurance
\nSRF (Sample Request Form) review, analysis, hand over and follow up with the Product Development team in Asia
\nAdvise and support Design with material/hardware sourcing and developments on a technical product level, in order to meet commercial and financial needs
\nPartner with Design and Merchandise on all sample comments and revisions throughout the development process and the follow up
\nLead accurate product specifications and ensure they are maintained and communicated to all parties involved at all times
\nMaintain accurate and up to date systems (PLM) on all relevant aspects that result in an efficient flow of information between PD Amsterdam and Buying office in Asia, development- and material team
\nMaintain digital and physical set up of the material library
\nManage proto, sample, SMS and production status, to ensure PVH standards as well as on time deliveries are met
\nCommunication between internal/external partners to resolve Product Development issues

\nQualifications:
\n\nMinimum 7 years working experience in development/production of Footwear
\nFlexible and open to travel within Europe as well as Asia
\nExcellent problem solving ability and solution minded
\nA passion for Footwear, sustainability and details
\nStrong knowledge of PLM systems
\nExcellent organizational, communication and negotiating skills necessary
\nAbility to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
\nPro-active, solution driven attitude
\nFluent in English, Italian is a plus
