Primary Responsibilities of the Job:

Integrate Safe work practices into every new task assigned and learn new safe behaviors from senior maintenance technicians. Apply learned behaviors to new assignments. Demonstrate customer-focus by maintaining a neat and clean work area during both localized and shop-area projects. Comply with personnel attendance and all other regulations as stated in the company policy handbook. Must be able to successfully complete Lock-out/Tag-out training and adhere to all company safety rules and OSHA regulations. Understand basic personal computer operations including sending and receiving e-mail messages. Understand and demonstrate the ability to effectively access computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) to retrieve work order assignments and enter feedback or historical data necessary to document work performed. Must be capable of operating various types of mobile equipment; including, but not limited to, Carts, Sweepers, Scrubbers, Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Sit-down Lift, Walkies, and Battery Extractor. Perform routine mandated PM duties on battery inventory, battery extractor and associated equipment including touch- painting of the battery area as needed. Responsible for cleanliness for Battery area, including but not limited to, battery extractor, batteries, chargers, battery stands, battery pans, storage areas and floor. Wash and clean tools and equipment. Develop and present training and communication sessions for the department related to new, modified, or equipment operations familiar to BC-Tech issues in order to share best practices. Lubricate and oil necessary machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specified procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Internal & External Contacts:

Internal: Maintenance Supervisor, Facility Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Supervision, Operations Managers, Fellow Associates.

External: Minimal contact with contract services; Battery and Equipment Suppliers.


Decision Making:

Communicate information effectively between counterparts on various shifts. Determine and recommend ordering of spare parts for related sub-systems. Makes safety/repair recommendations to maintenance supervisor.

Resourcefulness/Creativity: Associate should be effective in dealing with recurring problems.

Environment:

1. Must be able to crawl, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., climb, and work up to 50 ft. heights.
2. Must be able to stand most or all of shift in a wide range of temperatures.
3. Must be able to distinguish different wire colors
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience: Prefer 2 -3 years industrial experience
Exposure to analytical meters and gauges
Exposure to paints, coatings, and adhesives applications
Familiar with gearboxes and electric motors, v-belts and pulleys
Exposure to mathematics applied to industry
Familiar with sprockets and chains used as power transmission
Understand, confidently use, and maintain shop tools
Six (6) weeks of Weekend Shift experience preferred
Education: Must score a minimum of 55 percentile on the Bennets Mechanical Aptitude test. Requires High School Diploma or GED.
Willingness to attend and complete conveyor training classes off site


Skills: Must possess skill in the use of standard equipment and hand tools related to the area of assignment. Must be able to learn and process repetitive tasks quickly. Must possess the ability to easily follow oral and written instructions.
