The Team
The Procurement department at PVH Europe focuses on all indirect (non-merchandise) purchases and functions as an internal consultant for the rest of the organization. The team drives strategic sourcing processes that allows the business to ensure sustainable sourcing in a standardized environment with a compliant, managed supply chain. One of the departments objectives is to provide detailed information on the operational spend and identifies where savings can be made. The team researches the market for new vendors that can deliver valuable services/goods to PVH and executes tenders to ensure the best product for the best price delivered at the best time. By using extensive processes of contract management and vendor management, we ensure that the vendor base keeps optimally performing for the organization. The Procurement department has strong collaboration with every aspect of the business and advices on new possibilities. Additionally, there is a strong focus on enabling our vendors to help implement our companys sustainability targets.
The Procurement department at PVH Europe is structured according to the principle of category management. This position is for a Senior Buyer in the category Retail, which covers all procurement for the omnichannel departments. The role will report into the Procurement Manager who oversees this category. This team is working closely together with internal stakeholders on retail items such as (but not limited to) mannequins, hangers, presenters, carpets, in store fixtures, lighting, flooring, architect agencies, digital solutions and window displays.
The Position
In this role the candidate needs to have an entrepreneurial mindset. The candidate is expected to independently develop and maintain relationships with the internal stakeholders. They are responsible to acquire his/her own projects within the retail departments, and promote the Procurement department within the business. Next to this it is expected that the candidate will share Procurement knowledge to the procurement coordinators by mentoring, involving them in projects and sharing best practices on a regular basis. Other responsibilities are (but not limited to) to maintain best market prices, minimizing contractual risks to the Company while ensuring full compliance to all service levels, CSR and Human Rights policies. The candidate is to have excellent communication, diplomacy, negotiation, presentation and organizational skills.
KEY TASKS
Working cross functionally with several (omnichannel) departments and independently develop and maintain relationships with the internal stakeholders
Sell procurement to the stakeholders and convince them to work with the Procurement team on projects
Acquisition, lead and execution of RFX projects for (new) products and services within the omnichannel departments
Become subject matter expert in the assigned fields of omnichannel
Analyse and negotiate prices for all purchases within the omnichannel category
Obtain a good overview of current contracts and commitments by working in conjunction with the legal and retail team and ensure supplier contractual agreements are in place with clear supplier KPIs to include in Procurements supplier rating tool
Investigate new supply sources in-line with the requirements
Cost & Tender Analysis for all Retail requirements
Maintain spend reporting to review category size and negotiate if required and support Procurement Manager with provision of all required Financial Reporting
Establish and maintain regular communication with all suppliers on quality, forecasts and price levels
Effective Purchase Order & Invoicing work-flow and processes
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, excellent stakeholder management skills are key. The pace within the company is high and projects and priorities move quickly. The Procurement team operates as a business partner and needs to anticipate business requirements. Our ideal candidate therefore has very strong communication & interpersonal skills, can be persuasive when needed and thrives in a hectic and everchanging environment.
Besides these personal skills, we will be looking for:
Bachelors degree in area of economics, econometrics, business, finance or supply chain management
Procurement, purchasing and supply chain qualifications (CIPS/NEVI) are preferred
Minimum 4 years of relevant Procurement experience of which 2 as a Buyer
Procurement experience in a retail environment is a plus
Experience with procurement processes, systems and strategies and working knowledge of contract management and value engineering principles
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving and contract negotiation skills
Excellent organization and project management skills especially planning, budget and time management
Team player, open-minded and international mindset, able to adopt the company culture and to build relationships with colleagues & suppliers spread over Europe
Excellent written and spoken language skills in English and ability to work in a multi-cultural & multi-lingual environment
