The Designer I, Handbags is responsible for leading the design process from implementation of concept to finished product. Have the ability to design across multiple divisions & price categories of Handbags and SLGs. Provide market research insight to build new business and update old business. Work with the team and cross functional partners to ensure the product line is brought to market in a timely manner and is best possible product for the consumer.

Responsibilities:
Assists in the creation of brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction/business strategy
Develop seasonal product with a focus on style, function and fabric
Ensures timely development of line by adhering to time and action calendar
Deliver design sketches/prototypes and provide specifications
Adapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalization
Apply processes to understand/anticipate the needs of the customer in order to exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs
Review prototypes and communicate corrections
Create artwork to be translated into prints and graphics
Organize color swatches and materials
Utilize resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and stay up to date on competitor research/trend analysis

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accessories Design or equivalent experience
5+ years of handbag design experience in a comparable retail environment
Exceptional talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling/performance
Collaborative partner with a team-oriented approach
Must have proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and building technical specs
Strong ability to hand sketch and computer render
Grasp of graphic design as it applies to layouts, print manipulation and trims
Ability to research and develop custom hardware
Highly motivated, passionate and results oriented
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Solid communication and presentation skills
Must be flexible to meet demands of deadlines, etc.
Possess fashion aesthetic akin to the Tommy Hilfiger brand
Personal professionalism and accountability
Moderate domestic / international travel
PLM and/or 3D design experience, a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines
Detail oriented and resourceful traits necessary
Must be able to find best solutions and developing methods to improve efficiency
Must be flexible to adapt to changing trends of business and projects
Ability to work in fluid environment with changing priorities required
