The Position
The Business Analyst is the best partner for the retail management, providing comprehensive analysis on retail accounts to allow sound business decisions, in order to achieve sales and profit goals.
The candidate will provide accurate financial and commercial information by researching and analyzing sales data, market information and reports.
Key Accountabilities
You will have the opportunity to develop professional competencies by leading the following activities:
Be a Partner for the Retail and Finance Function to analyze, at all necessary levels of detail (by channel, by store type, by store, by brand, etc.) sales trends, item level data, pricing and promotional plans, markdown impacts and budgets
Participate to weekly meetings to update cross-functional teams on meaningful sales and budget reports along with the analysis of a set of KPIs
Analyse the P&L accounts for division assigned, focusing on various aspects such as sales, margins, markdowns, KPIs, payroll
Review periodically financial statement to ensure fairness and completeness of the data
Prepare and explain reports necessary to drive performance and ensure alignment across team members and cross functional partners; provide ad-hoc reports when and where requested, acting as a business partner for Retail and Finance Function
Drive the business forward through data-driven recommendations and proactive evaluations
Constantly reviews and reports on key retail account weekly sales and procurement forecasts
Provide analysis of weekly purchasing forecasts by model to assist in future months forecasting validation
Provide regular analysis to management on sell-through history and apply it to forecasting, procurement, inventory and preferred store selection for products
Monitor the competitive environment as it relates to products, promotions, pricing and merchandising
Provide analyses on store operations (e.g. new store performance, sales analyses and customer experience)
The Ideal Candidate
Requirements:
4 years of experience as Junior Business Analyst or Controller
Degree in Administration Finance and Corporate Control or in Finance
Fluency in English required
Flexibility and adaptability
Attention to details, rigorous, proactive and deadline oriented
Strong analytical skills with a financial mindset
Autonomy, ability to prioritize and impact focus
Outstanding relationship skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization
High interest in fashion industry and passion for the brands
