About The Role
The Accounts Receivable Accountant will work within the Financial Accounting team, whose role is supporting the business to reach their targets. This is done by overseeing the accounts receivables function across the board for both Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands with an emphasis on the financial reporting of the Concession channel. The main role of this position is to oversee the accurate and timely reporting of sales made in the stores and concessions, to ensure sales reconcile with cash receipts / concession statements and to ensure that cash management procedures are properly adhered to. The person will be the main contact to the wider business for the financial reporting of the retail concessions and will have the confidence to liaise with different stakeholders in the business from store managers (requesting paperwork and querying cash discrepancies), bank representatives (ordering banking books or dealing with issues in processing the PDQ proceeds from terminal to bank account) to system operations teams based in Amsterdam. The role will require a sturdy base knowledge of accounting and a good understanding of data flows and the interaction of multiple reporting systems. The AR Accountant will directly report to the Financial Controller.
Responsibilities include:
Accounts receivable and cash in transit for stores:
Reviewing Cash In Transit (CIT) reconciliations performed by Shared Service Center (SSC)
Advising SSC on what actions should be taken for the identified discrepancies / issues
Distributing weekly store discrepancy reports
Liaising with stores to resolve discrepancies
Liaise with Profit Protection to report on cash discrepancies at a store level
Concessions sales reporting and cash in transit:
Timely reconciliations of concession sales between SAP and other reporting sources
Balance Sheet reconciliations of concession invoice postings vs sales in SAP
Balance Sheet reconciliations of concession invoice posting vs cash received
Assisting with concession based projects (new concession set up, automation of concession sales reporting)
Ownership of financial reporting of concession sites (P&L reviews, calculation of minimum guarantees, commission and opex accruals)
Other ad-hoc tasks and projects in relation to concessions
Cash management:
Ensuring cash management policies are adhered to by stores
Reviewing weekly store paperwork and chasing up stores to ensure this is completed
Liaising with Loomis to ensure cash collections are set up for new stores and all stores have pick-ups on an appropriate basis
Safe float reconciliations
Ordering the banking books, when needed
Liaising with Retail Operations team to set up new MIDs / TIDs for new stores
About You
Studied or studying towards AAT or studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification
Experience of working within a finance function
High attention to detail
Accountable and reliable
High willingness to learn
Good interpersonal skills
Preferred experience
Experience in retail
SAP experience
