<p>The VP Divisional Planning Manager <b>(DPM)</b> is a broad-based and strategic leadership role. The position is responsible for overseeing the location and channel based strategies across CK Retail to maximize and achieve financial objectives and profitability for a specific family of business. The position requires an entrepreneurial mix of visionary strategy development, exceptional financial business acumen, strong understanding of merchandising, and the ability to lead a large team. The DPM will develop a strategic vision, with a progressive, customer-centric approach all while holding teams accountable for delivering on sales and profit objectives without operating in the tactics of the day to day operations. A key requirement is to demonstrate curiosity in a much broader and more complex business environment transcending our traditional competitive landscape in order to engage our customer.</p><p>The DPM will be known as a trusted, agile, collaborative, results-oriented leader and business partner who can lead through influence and who possesses professional maturity and industry credibility. A fundamental requirement is to be able to build trust with their teams and key collaborators. The DPM must be comfortable with quickly evaluating existing process and demonstrating agility to support change. The DPM must be able to collaborate across functions to gain alignment that leads to solid execution.</p><p></p><p><b>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: </b></p><ul><li>Set, lead and communicate the strategic assortment planning vision of location and channel based strategies that support CK Retail growth.</li><li>Reduce complexity, act decisively, and model agility in leadership style.</li><li>Align with EVP of Planning & Allocation to ensure financial plans support national, localized and online assortments with appropriate receipt and inventory levels.</li><li>Oversee effective communication of the total family of business direction and strategies.</li><li>In partnership with Buying, Allocation and Field, build Vision Strategy focusing on emerging customer needs, leveraging business trends, demographics, climate, customer data, assortment analytics and field input.</li><li>Ensure team is adhering to calendar deadlines for class plans and style/sku plants to align assortment, placement, order entry and assortment allocation.</li><li>Maximize sales margin, and turn through proper planning and execution of merchandise placement by channel and location.</li><li>Leverage team to ensure assortment plans, unit placements, and allocation of orders tie back to financial plans, assortment vision and promotional strategy for the business.</li><li>Recommend edits of doors, brands and skus based on business performance.</li><li>Build and manage a robust team of highly motivated category managers.</li><li>Build a culture that will drive engagement, commitment, fresh thinking and allow for connectedness at all levels within pyramid.</li><li>Have ability to set and to deliver on a strategic category vision that aligns to the Brand Strategy and deliver financial targets.</li><li>Make company first decisions that support whats best for the enterprise.</li><li>Create a vision that supports being a market share leader in their category.</li><li>Motivate appropriate risk taking.</li><li>Build a strategy and plan that supports a compelling core and curated assortment.</li><li>Size growth opportunities, edit for clarity, and ensure localization initiatives differentiate CK Retail.</li><li>Have a solid understanding and focus on the digital experience.</li></ul><p><b><u>________________________________________________________________</u></b></p><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:</b></p><p><b>Experience: </b></p><ul><li>Ideally, 10-plus years of progressive experience in complex, best-in-class consumer and lifestyle oriented companies that ideally create emotional connections with their customers.</li><li>10 years of experience in retail planning</li><li>The broad scope of this role requires an understanding of many functions including, Stores, Buying, Planning, Allocation, Online and Marketing.</li><li>SAP or related planning systems experience a plus</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Education: </b>4-year degree required; advanced degree a plus</p><p></p><p><b>Skills: </b></p><ul><li>Highly analytical, strategic leadership ability</li><li>Ability to empower team to remove obstacles</li><li>Demonstrated ability to learn and lead functions outside of core competencies (some cross functional experience optimal).</li><li>Communicate with candor and value open debate to ensure the best ideas come to life.</li><li>Growth oriented mind set with ability to coach teams to embrace growth.</li><li>Have the temperament to lead and motivate the teams.</li><li>Proven success in leading teams in a changing and ambiguous business environment.</li><li>Dynamic, transformational leadership, passionate about our work.</li><li>Inspirational leader who is a talent advocate for the organization.</li><li>Able to develop talent with a company mindset</li><li>Comfortable with taking risks and celebrating risk taking regardless of outcome.</li><li>Able to retain focus on vision and outcomes, letting others make decisions without the traditional hierarchical approval think and act independently.</li><li>Collaborative, supportive style with a strong ability to establish trust and build relationships across all levels and functions of the organization.</li><li>Resilient, tenacious, high energy.
