<p><b><span>Position Summary</span></b></p><ul><li><span>The Raw Material Manager is responsible for managing the overall process of developing new and seasonal fabrics that meet the designer's aesthetic vision while balancing quality, cost and speed.</span></li><li><span>Develop a supply chain that supports the overarching strategic vision.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES :</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Collaborate with mills, US Raw Material team, and Supply Chain Partners.</span></li><li><span>Communicates with the US Design team, manages the Mills across the defined region, oversees wash development, and ensures aesthetic and performance characteristics.</span></li><li><span>Understand the industry trends and manage the process of communicating trend research.</span></li><li><span>Perform the periodic SWOT analysis of the mills' performance and alignment to sourcing needs. Identify gaps, propose ideas and work with mills to elevate.</span></li><li><span>Partner with the mills on solutions to drive to the shortest lead times while balancing cost and quality.</span></li><li><span>Guide US team on textile knowledge and mill specific processes and technology.</span></li><li><span>Provide macro trend information available from mills that may impact the negotiation result</span></li><li><span>Collaborate with across brands to find out the cost leveraging opportunities</span></li><li><span>Oversee fabric testing and ensure the mills understand expectations. Communicate with QA to ensure final garment quality.</span></li><li><span>Resolve any fabric related issues on the escalation review.</span></li><li><span>Utilize technical expertise in collaboration with the mill to meet quality expectations. Proactively resolve quality issues.</span></li><li><span>Execute strategic initiatives. Review and manage the process by analyzing metrics to determine the effectiveness of the current process.</span></li><li><span>Proactively monitor and meet calendar deadlines for approvals and mill execution. Ensure capacity to meet deadlines and manage resources as needed.</span></li><li><span>Surface ideas for improvement and identify any threats.</span></li><li><span>Influence peers and seek support to influencing upward</span></li><li><span>Provide cross-functional support and perform technician roles when needed.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Education & Experience</span></b></p><p></p><ul><li><span>Degree in Textile or related subject with 8 years or above relevant industry experience.</span></li><li><span>Extensive knowledge of raw materials, construction, costing, macro-economic trends, and capacity planning. Knowledge of Chemicals.</span></li><li><span>Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Results & solutions-driven.</span></li><li><span>Ability to synthesize: take complex issues and draw valid and actionable fact-based conclusions.</span></li><li><span>Able to drive change, inspire, coach, mentor and develop a high performing team.</span></li><li><span>Able to establish and maintain strong working relationships cross-functionally and cross-divisionally, as well as with the external partners.</span></li><li><span>Ability to know when to direct teams in a leadership capacity and when to take a hands-on approach to deliver timely results.</span></li><li><span>Strong negotiating skills in diverse cultural environments.</span></li><li><span>Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.</span></li><li><span>Deadline-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accuracy.</span></li><li><span>Computer literate. Knowledge of Web PLM preferred.</span></li><li><span>Good command of both spoken and written English.</span></li><li><span>Previous people management experience is a plus.</span></li></ul>"
