The Assistant Designer will support the Calvin Klein North America Mens Apparel Design team from initial concept/color through to product delivery.This includes supporting all design team members in the creation of print, trim, fabric developments, and tech pack creation for Wovens product categories. Effective communication and thorough prompt follow-up, is a key role in this position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Responsible for detailed sketching in Illustrator for new and updated styles.
Research for product development, styling, details and trims.
Updates, maintains, and creates tech packs in Centric.
Responsible for Centric updates across channels.
Assists in establishing color and concept for each season.
Assists in maintaining/organizing styles, trims, and development library.
Coordinates the preparation of presentations.
Works cross-functionally with Technical Design and Sourcing teams for follow up and development of new silhouettes, fabric/trims, etc.
Works with Merchandising team on follow up of specific needs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience:1-2 years of experience in Design; preferably Menswear
Education:Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design or related field
Skills:Excellent Mac/PC knowledge including Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, self-starter, and detail oriented
