The Category Analyst supports the development of Value Channel Retailers, including Dollar General, Family Dollar, Aldi, and Lidl, sales growth strategies by providing insightful analytics and shopper insights that support a mutually beneficial growth plan. The Category Analyst candidate requires an advanced working knowledge of all resources and tools required to complete and present category & brand development related projects. Data resources and tools include Syndicated Scan (IRI/Nielsen), the 1010Data Platform, BI reporting, Numerator, etc. This position will provide reporting support for some accounts, and act as the key Category Management resource for smaller value channel retailers.

Key internal interactions are with the Senior Category Development Manager, the Sr. Director of Category Development, the Account Management team, and our Business Insights Team. Externally, this position primarily interacts with buyers and Senior Buyers at the retailer.

Customer Analysis

Creation of presentations using a persuasive selling format, founded on research and analysis to achieve category and brand objectives.
Creation of sales content, including sell sheets for execution of category and brand objectives
Create templates and executive summaries to analyze brand & market trends
Identify opportunity gaps in volume, share, pricing, promotion, shelf space and product distribution
Track, measure, and communicate results from in-store merchandising initiatives.
Research mindset, seeking to always answer the questions of how and why and provide depth to audiences
Track record for building winning customer relationships

Category & Brand Analytics

Strategic and start-up attitude, eager to launch and elevate the brand and category to a new channel of trade
General analytic curiosity and willingness to adopt/learn new approaches to analyzing data
Apply third party research resources, including Kantar, to inform and direct strategy for the channel and the category
Work with the Shopper and Consumer insights teams to identify key shopper groups or purposes within the channel and specific retailers
Generate and interpret reports with syndicated and internal sales sources to support Red Bull’s category development strategy
Support team needs in a timely and efficient manner demonstrating a sense of urgency, tenacity, and commitment to quality and customer service
