The Studio Manager role is a critical role on the creative team, leading strategy and execution across product content development, visual merchandising, front end web development and operational roles that will drive the brand and business forward. This person will partner with the creative director to establish the creative vision and direction, then lead their team to execute against the vision. This person will manage workflow and timelines for the internal creative process and integrated marketing projects. They will be responsible for driving the vision and development of product content and ensuring flawless tracking and reporting. They will also lead the Visual Merchandising team to ensure they are curating marketing campaigns throughout the entire customer journey. This role is perfect for somebody who has strong creative vision as well as operational excellence. They must be able to juggle multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced retail environment. About the Job: • Responsible for leading all functions within the creative studio and meeting brand and operational goals and metrics • Good for someone who can balance between having a strong creative vision and being a strong, process oriented manager • Ensures teams are appropriately resourced to deliver against business, brand and operational objectives • Creates and manages budget based on forecast and target metrics • Anticipates changing priorities and implements plans to meet business needs • Provides industry expertise and can build a plan that differentiates and elevates the shopping experience for customers • Describes the strategic importance of the department’s vision inside and outside of team • Develops and communicates a department vision that supports the broader organization vision • Builds and develops internal process to support effective, efficient creative production About You: • A total of 6-8 years of experience, ideally both on the agency side as well as in house • Extensive exposure to consumer, eCommerce marketing • This role is 50% art and 50% science; you must have a strong creative eye and understanding, and then have the ability to bring it to life on strategy, on budget and on time • Thrive on managing large scale creative operations that demand logistical and resource analysis, planning and decision making in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment • Ability to lead creative and operational teams to create high quality product content at scale. • You will seek to find the right balance between creative and operational imperatives to meet customer and business needs • Thought leader who strategizes and delivers innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience (on time and within budget), drive continuous improvement, scale production to meet high volumes, and drive greater efficiency while maintaining quality • Will build strong relationships with merch, product, finance, brand managers, external vendors while motivating a team of people to deliver results. • A proven leader with the ability to motivate and inspire a cross-disciplinary team of marketers • Ideally has worked within an Agile / Sprint team environment • Strong business acumen and quantitative problem-solving abilities with an ability to tackle unstructured/undefined problems and apply strategic frameworks • Strong ability in conceptualizing and developing presentations for senior-level meetings. Can guide team members/colleagues in the development of high-quality presentations • High attention to detail and a can-do attitude • Proven influencing skills • A clear desire and ability to be collaborative. Must be able to work well in a collegial and casual work environment • Ability to partner effectively with a wide variety of people and constituencies and comfortably working cross-functionally • Comfortable with change and moving quickly About Backcountry Our mission is to connect people to their passions.
