Backcountry has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Brand Merchandiser on our Owned Brands team. Assistant Brand Merchandisers at Backcountry are responsible for supporting the team in achieving the financial goals of the Owned Brands. About the Job: Product development: assist Product Line Manager (PLM) with data analysis on brand/product performance, comps, and assortment planning. PO Management:Create, manage, and track purchase orders in ERP system to ensure accurate orders, and on-time delivery. Coordinate product review sessions with Gearheads to ensure this is a constant feedback loop. Manage all Receiving issues that our blisteringly fast Distribution Center may have. Assortment Selection: pricing, category/brand mix, and seasonal selection of inventory for the category Vendor Negotiations: discounts, terms, close-out buys, PO compliance and issues management, image use PO Management: Create, manage, and track SKU/purchase order worksheets (Qty/Dollar/Style Allocation, Size/Color Breakout) to ensure on-time submission to vendors and delivery of product, timely management of PO edits Partner with Quality Control to identify product quality issues. Coordinate product review sessions with Gearheads to ensure this is a constant feedback loop. Manage any Return to Vendor (RTV) issues and all Receiving issues that our blisteringly fast Distribution Center may have. Promotions: Works with the manager to brainstorm/hindsight Promo concepts, performance, and helps to set up the promotional cadence for the category. Picks SKUs/links and reviews all rules pages. QA promo functionality, review and react to performance, and identify risks in promotional calendar. Pricing: Works with the manager and Planning counterpart to set the pricing strategy, in-line/in-Season pricing (promo periods, promotional calendar management), manage price-break dates, communicate all in-season and end of season price breaks to marketing team and is responsible for assignment to the promotional calendar. Inventory Management: Works with the manager and Planning to establish PO Receipt Flow, Preseason inventory allocation, aggressively pursues opportunities to fill Open-to-Buy (OTB), set in season sell-through targets, pricing strategy for slow movers, moving aged and toxic inventory, closeout inventory, and ensures inventory management strategy aligned with company-wide financial goals Online Merchandising: reviews/optimizes color thumbnail displayed on PLP and Search pages, oversees the boosting/sort order for responsible brands/categories, sets up Cross Sell/Up Sells tools, manages Backorders, review and optimizes site taxonomy and facets About You: 1-3 years of relevant Industry Merchandising and Buying experience Solid foundation of Retail Math and Buying Fundamentals Self-motivated and looking to join a fast-paced team Ability to travel to as needed (
