Our Owned Brands are the key strategic growth priority for Backcountry and we are expanding our brand marketing team to further our ability to support their growth both within and outside of our ecosystem. We are looking to build our Owned Brands program and become more sophisticated in our approach to driving product launches and sustained, integrated marketing plans. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of Backcountry’s brand efforts. This is a key role, and will manage two Associate Brand Managers. Together, the team will support the execution of various brand initiatives, ensuring all touch-points across the brand and business are aligned with this work. This role will help plan and execute a go-to-market plan for Backcountry Gear and Apparel, Basin + Range, and Stoic, including shaping the brand positioning and developing the marketing calendars and campaigns for all three Owned Brands. They will also play a critical role in framing customer and cultural insights as strategic inputs into the seasonal product briefs. This person is responsible for hitting all brand KPIs, and partnering with the VP Owned Brands to support revenue targets. This is a cross-functional position that will need to partner closely with a number of internal and external teams, including marketing, merchandising, user experience, product, finance, analytics and our Gearhead program. About the Job: • Develop and manage all brand activities related to our Owned Brands GTM program • Manage and oversee the work of two associate brand managers, and ensuring they’re delivering on time, on strategy and on budget • Oversee and execute marketing strategies and tactics, testing various campaign approaches for all Owned Brands, including email, paid and organic social, landing page / site experiences, PR, events, ambassadors • Develop seasonal briefs to inform product development process • Communicate effectively across the entire organization • Manage budgets, plans, briefs and calendar plans effectively • Understand and be able to accurately drive reporting and analytics activities as they relate to Owned Brands About You: • The successful candidate must have a passion for brand development and an ambition to build a unique and differentiated leading brands in the outdoor space • Comfortable working within a ‘start up’ environment within a larger organization • Resourceful and passionate, with a “whatever it takes to get it done” attitude • Does not have a ‘it’s not my job” attitude • Can balance “mission and margin” – has a strong brand building background with an appreciation and understanding we are building a business with revenue and margin goals • A collaborator at heart - this is a cross-functional role that requires partnership with multiple teams across the business • Ability to juggle multiple projects with ease and perform under pressure with a strong attention to detail • A hands on approach that is happy to execute autonomously as well as manage external parties • Strong leadership skills, project management and people management skills • A unique blend of a customer-centric philosophy, structured and analytical problem solving with creative flair and imagination • Experience in an online, e-commerce environment • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing • 5+ years experience in a brand marketing or equivalent / relevant role • Experience and proven track-record in on location and studio photo shoots • A solid creative foundation and understanding of leisure and modern outdoor visual aesthetics • Understands the outdoor customer and competitive space • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an ever changing, sometimes chaotic environment • Ability to anticipate the needs of other team members to increase efficiencies • Ability to organize and coordinate different aspects of multiple projects at once • Strong knowledge of Powerpoint, Microsoft Word and Excel • Willingness to work erratic hours when needed for a given project
