Sourcing Coordinator

Intro:

Backcountry’s Owned Brands division is looking for a Sourcing Coordinator to help support this rapidly growing portion of the overall business. Our sourcing team oversees the development and bulk production. We are hands on with the product from initial designs through the delivery in our warehouse. The sourcing team helps in finding the highest quality materials for all of our brands. We are looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and help execute on the strategic initiatives of the division. This role will report to the Director of Sourcing, Owned Brands.

About the Job:

In conjunction with the Director of Sourcing, partner closely with Product Development and Design teams to ensure vendor selection meets aesthetic, quality, capacity, cost goals, and is in line with the Sourcing Strategy.
Track and monitor all costing information and bulk execution information and share with product teams as required.
Partner with our overseas operations teams to solve production/quality issues that may cause delay.
Work closely with Tech Designers, Merchants, and PLMs to ensure calendar dates are met
Lead weekly proto and production status update meetings with cross functional team.
Work with Demand and Merchandise Planning functions in the issuance of purchase orders in tandem with customer demand.
Establish Time and Action calendar (tracking WIP) for overseas factories to ensure that all the goods meet delivery and quality standards. Push weekly updates from factory.
Maintain PLM system with up-to-date information on product, fabrics, costs, COO, etc.
Attend handover meetings with Design, PLM, Tech Design, and Sourcing
Order all SMS and Photo shoot samples, manage delivery to proper departments
Work with Director of Sourcing for all product testing, sponsored athletes, and miscellaneous tasks
Assist with sending new styles to new factories for costing and quality review
Work with trim suppliers on development of new trims
Able to conduct after hours skype meetings with factories
Support Owned Brands team with administrative and production-related tasks

About you:

Associate degree in apparel or related experience
2 years experience with production, sourcing, or merchandising
Experience in private label is a major plus
Working knowledge of production process, garment construction, and technical design.
Foundational understanding of global trade agreements and trade regulations.
Must be able to troubleshoot production issues and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office applications
Maintain current passport
Willing to travel internationally/domestically up to 10%
Team player with ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment
Ability to apply technical knowledge to various apparel categories
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Deadline driven and extremely detail oriented
