POSITION TITLE: Merchandise Planning Analyst

REPORTS TO: Planning Manager

LOCATION: Park City*** This is a PART TIME hourly role (25-30 hrs/week)Mon & Tues (9AM to 5PM)Wed - Fri (flexible)

Backcountry has an exciting opportunity to join the Merchandise Planning team in Park City, UT! This position requires excellent analytical skills, retail or ecommerce business experience, and the ability to work well alone and with a team. The Merchandise Planning Analyst works with the Planning and Buying teams and provides business critical reporting and analysis at a routine and ad-hoc basis allowing for strategic daily business decisions. The Merchandise Planning Analyst is responsible for developing and improving his/her skillset with pre-season and in-season forecasting, assortment planning, pricing, margin analysis and inventory control for our business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with business intelligence tools to extract relevant data as needed. Work with BI team members to gather data as required.
Produce accurate financial reports and daily dashboards
Recap business performance, reviewing variance to plan and assess any deviations to current trends
Demonstrate working knowledge of concepts and principles of business metrics and analyses, including their application to effective reporting and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Retail Math
Able to work both independently and with a team
Able to develop and maintain strong working relationships and communicate well with peers and cross-functional teams
Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
Able to perform under pressure, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred
