The successful candidate will support the Owned Brands team for Backcountry, a fast growing and profitable business based in Park City, Utah.Backcountry has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Brand Merchandiser on our Owned Brands team. The Assistant Brand Merchandiser will collaborate with and support the Owned Brands team in achieving the Divisions financial goals by reporting sales data, analyzing product trends and operating as one team. If you want a fast-paced work environment with the opportunity to directly affect the growth and development of our owned brands, this could be your job!ABOUT THE JOB:Maintains and distributes accurate business recap reports used for analyzing the business and communicating with vendors
PO Management:
Takes ownership building SKUs and ensuring accuracy with site taxonomy for each product
Create, manage, and track Purchase Orders to ensure on-time submission to vendors and delivery of product
Partner with Quality Control to identify product quality issues at the DC
Collaborate with fulfillment team on any Return to Vendor and receiving issues

Sample Management:
Supports PLM to manage seasonal sample timing for sample delivery, Purchase Orders, and Vendor invoicing
Tracks and organizes samples in the office to ensure they’re accounted for and available for use
Purges old samples as new/approved samples arrive

Coordinate product review sessions with cross-functional team members to ensure there is a constant feedback loop
Assortment Selection: assist Product Line Manager (PLM) with data analysis on brand/product performance, competitive references, pricing, category/brand mix, and seasonal selection of product for the brand/category
Vendor Relationships: Builds professional relationships with vendors and responds to vendor requests for information. Prepares reporting for vendor meetings and recaps meeting details for PLMs and vendors. Negotiates discounts, terms, close-out buys, PO compliance, sample delivery, invoicing, and product delivery timing
Pricing: Works with the Product Line Manager and Planning counterpart to upload pricing and promotions for current season and aged product.
Online Merchandising: reviews and optimizes color thumbnail displayed on Product Listing Page and Search pages, oversees the boosting and sort order for designated categories, manages all content, copy and photography needs for branded products, and reviews and optimizes site taxonomy search and filters

ABOUT YOU:1-3 years of relevant Industry Merchandising, Product Development, or Buying experience
Solid foundation of Retail Math and Buying Fundamentals
Self-motivated and looking to join a fast-paced team
Ability to think critically and communicate complex thoughts and/or ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Willingness and ability to travel to as needed (
