SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

The Social Media Manager will create and execute a social media content strategy on behalf of the Backcountry brand, Steep and Cheap, Basin + Range, and Stoic. This includes, but is not limited to, developing a holistic social media strategy, analyzing KPIs, and creating regular reports to communicate the health of the social program. The Social Media Manager will be able to dynamically react to changes in the industry as needed in order to meet traffic, engagement, conversion and revenue goals. Social platforms include, but are not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. This role will work closely with the Brand Director, social media team, content team, and creative team to ensure that a cohesive social media strategy is successfully achieved.

The ideal candidate is able to balance both strategy and execution. He or she is willing to approach the role from a creative and analytically-oriented perspective, and should be prepared to both represent and embody the Backcountry brand lifestyle. The ideal candidate will have experience linking business metrics to social media activities, driving desired business results and revenue targets, while also balancing channel objectives such as community growth and engagement. He or she should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, be self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be well-informed of changes in social trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate will develop and execute against a holistic social strategy on behalf of Backcountry.
Candidate is responsible for successful implementation of social media outreach for Backcountry, Steep and Cheap, Basin + Range, and Stoic on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube, including meeting established goals for number of followers, engagement, conversion and revenue
Candidate should develop and maintain a set of best social practices according to brand guidelines that can be shared with the broader organization
Candidate will research, evaluate and implement (as approved) necessary tools and/or software to support social channels, including a platform to integrate shoppable content
Candidate will evaluate new social platforms and partnership opportunities and make a recommendation based on company and team initiatives
The position may involve working outside normal office hours in order to coordinate live content on evenings, weekends and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Bachelor’s degree
5 years of experience in social media, customer solutions, public relations or communications
This position requires strong social media skills as well as basic training in/understanding of public relations
The candidate must demonstrate total proficiency in both written and verbal communication
Must be adept with Google Collaboration Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Steller, and other social media channels
Must understand and be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate a willingness to provide the best possible customer service
This position demands a great deal of strategic thinking and organizational skills as well as the ability to create compelling, original, and exciting content
