POSITION TITLE: Digital Merchandising Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Digital Merchandising Creative Manager



The Digital Merchandising Coordinator will be a hybrid role responsible for organizing & managing product used in marketing photoshoots as well as working within our product listing pages to ensure accurate and appropriate product placement throughout the site. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, deep understanding of gear and is self motivated. This role provides an opportunity for the candidate to further their career at Backcountry, while gaining exposure to the various departments in the organization.


? Working with Buying teams to request vendor samples for marketing photoshoots

? Ordering, receiving, organizing, and prepping product to be shot

? Being in constant communication with Production team to ensure we are supporting our partners when quick pivots occur

? Packing & building product to be sent on location shoots

? Troubleshooting shipping issues/delays and working with warehouse to guarantee timely delivery of featured product

? Creating and maintaining optimal product placement through internal search and navigation utilizing commerce search tools and daily product boosting

? Setup and manage product boosts/blocks on all catalogs to ensure premium product placement through all product browsing paths

? Analyze sales and search results to prioritize boosting and product placement opportunities

? Create and maintain internal search synonyms to ensure accurate and full search results

? Create redirect URLs to support search tuning efforts

? Coordinate with buying team to identify key/flagship SKUs for optimal product visibility


? Excellent organizational and communication skills

? Proven knowledge of outdoor apparel, gear and their technical features

? Ability to be on your feet, lifting & moving boxes under 50lbs

? Visual merchandising or retail experience preferred

? Bachelor’s degree preferred

? Interest and understanding of the Backcountry Brand aesthetic and customer

? Ability to perform under pressure and prioritize competing tasks

? Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical skills
