About the job
The Art Director for Backcountry will oversee visual and creative direction for still and video content for Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist and Steep and Cheap brands
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide contractors with creative direction/art direction;
Fluency in understanding and interpreting strategy to developing initial concepts;
Work with Integrated Marketing, Merchandising and Production teams and other key stakeholders to deliver creative work that helps the project exceed its business and brand objectives
Strong understanding of digital and social platforms to translate our brand(s) vision into engaging executions on visual platforms (e.g. Instagram, Tik Tok) as well as site platforms and their extensions (e.g. email)
Leads setting direction for seasonal execution, inclusive of, but not limited to, Catalog
People leader of a talented and ambitious team, inclusive of production, photography and videographers
Ideate new ideas for custom video, animation, GIFS and memes;
Demonstrate strong presentation skills for communicating concepts and campaign creative for stakeholder consideration and approval;
Attend key meetings to present concepts, working with cross divisional partners to sell in new programs and ideas;
Work with vendors and outside specialty resources to extend the capacity and talents of the team.
Lead the creation of proposals, presentations, creative briefs and treatments;
Adopt the voice, personality and tone of our brands by accurately interpreting brand guidelines and tone of voice guidelines.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree in advertising, journalism or related degree;
Strong writing skills in a variety of formats (proposals, pitches, concepts, treatments, scripts, etc.);
Minimum 5 – 7 years experience in an agency or brand management; B2B experience is a must;
Strong copyediting and proofreading skills;
Ability to write for multiple formats, including: direct mail, email, digital banner ads, web and landing pages;
Previous agency or in-house creative group experience;
5+ years of agency experience, including Financial Services clients;
Desire to work collaboratively as part of a larger team in a fast-paced environment
