Backcountry.com has an amazing opportunity for a warehouse pro to expand his or her skills in our Utah Fulfillment Center. The successful candidate has excellent communication and organizational skills combined with an ability to work efficiently under minimum supervision.This position will be responsible for collaborating between Outbound Supervisors both on the conveyable and Non-Conveyable sides of the facility to ensure daily SLA's and Budgeted goals are met. Preference is given to those who know these system operations and already understand Outbound processes, or who have previous specialist experience.Responsible for being the area merchandise specialist, coordinating daily goals and coaching for Outbound operations to achieve there daily SLA, collaborating with other Outbound leadership to maintain a highly organized and efficient Picking and packing workflows, resolving problems, assisting in other merchandise specialist functions as needed, and helping employees learn their job-specific tasks.AVAILABLE SHIFTS:M-F PM (2:30 PM - 11:00PM)Weekend Shift S-T 9:00AM-7:30PMESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Computer usage, including maintaining Google Sheets/MS Excel spreadsheets, Interchange and internetRead and audit labelsAnalyze inventory and problems and initiate a resolutionCompile and send out end-of-day reportsCommunicate effectively via MS Outlook emailCoach employees on job-specific tasksUse handheld to scan and process inventoryIdentify, count and sort packages and inventory with high level of accuracyTrain new employeesUse internal reporting program, Jira, to log problemsTrack data using MS ExcelParticipate in team meetings, receive instructions, and provide feedback as appropriateUnderstand and differentiate between inbound processes and communicate team needs accordinglyOperate pallet jackUse automated packaging equipmentMaintain a clean work spaceAssign work to employees in absence of supervisorComplete and maintain forklift certification training (if trained and active forklift operator)Other duties as assignedNON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in LEAN initiativesParticipate in company eventsQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Prefer high school diploma or equivalency3 months experience in fulfillment center3 months experience as a Merchandise ProcessorVerbal and written comprehension of the English language requiredBasic math skills requiredMust be able to apply established procedures and follow oral/written instructionsMust be able to work independently without direct supervision and organize/prioritize workload to ensure completion of all tasks within established time framesMust be able to deal with the pressure of meeting production schedulesComputer skills, including familiarity with the internet and email requiredBonus SkillsExperience operating power industrial equipment (for example, standing order picker or forklift)Three months of experience in distribution center or six months in a customer service environmentPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
