POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Financial Planning & Analysis Intern will provide support in the financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities for the company’s Marketing Finance department; including strategic planning, regular projections and forecasts, reporting of key metrics and providing data analytics to support Marketing initiatives. They will develop a focus in a key area of our business and complete a project to be reviewed by peers and leaders by summer’s end.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform analytics to access and understand changes
Analyze information and options; develop reports
Develop transferable and understandable models that predict outcomes
Provide financial and analytical support to the finance and marketing departments
Identify, research, and explain variances between actual and forecasted performance
Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly
Protect Backcountry’s value by keeping information confidential

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Must be a Junior or Senior standing in an undergraduate program
Currently enrolled in a Finance learning program or recent graduate
0-3 years Finance experience
Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills; data-driven thinker
Ability to meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy of information and attention to detail
Intermediate to advanced MS Office Suite skills, with an emphasis on Excel
Ability to multitask and balance priorities
Knowledge and familiarity of Oracle NetSuite and Looker is a plus
