SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The eCommerce Merchandiser is responsible for management of the product catalog and web content on United Sports Brands’ eCommerce stores, ensuring product pages are easily findable, complete, accurate, up to brand standards and optimized for conversion. They will also merchandise category/landing pages, write and optimize copy, prepare the site for special product/promotions, and provide KPI reporting on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis. They will manage marketplace product listings through 3rd party resellers such as eBay, WalMart and Jet.com. This role works closely with cross functional partners such as Marketing, Demand Planning and Customer Service to ensure all products are presented on-site consistently, accurately and according to brand standards. The eCommerce Merchandiser also conducts competitive analyses to identify trends in retailing and eCommerce, communicating and leveraging that knowledge in their daily work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and execute eCommerce merchandising goals and strategies to achieve sales and gross margin goals
• Upload and launch new items in accordance with product launch deadlines
• Management of product catalog data including images, copy, attributes and category taxonomy
• Manage marketplace product listings through 3rd party channel resellers
• Write compelling, informative product descriptions and landing page details while ensuring SEO best practices are being adhered to
• Update and maintain website content including homepage banners, FAQ pages, news updates and the corporate brand website
• Maintain an acute awareness of the business context; including customer intent, competitive pressures, and internal variables (ie. branding objectives, stock position, pricing, deliveries, site performance, etc.)
• Assist in the development of annual marketing and promotional plans
• Leverage web analytics to understand performance of and customer interaction with site content, such as categories, featured placements (including promotions/sales) and general online shopping experiences to identify business opportunities and risks
• Deliver scheduled and ad-hoc reporting on site, product and category performance
• Drive improvement in the performance of the site and help drive projects and initiatives to further enhance the shopping experience
• Collaborate with Marketing to represent product, brand and intention consistently
• Work with demand planning to determine product availability needs and execute sale and clearance strategies, reducing inventory risk and optimizing available to purchase inventory
• Perform and maintain competitive website analysis, keep abreast of market trends and eCommerce consumer trends, customer service issues, and eCommerce technology and dynamics.
• Review catalog photography to determine additional photography needs for website, assisting in photography process when needed
• Gather customer feedback on products, features and brand to consolidate and disseminate to appropriate teams for next phase development
