Job Description

Deckers, located in Santa Barbara, CA, is seeking a Strategic Sales Manager for its Teva brand.

Responsible for the long term strategic growth of the Brand within specified channel of distribution. Required to build strong relationships with Senior Business Partners of major Accounts across the country. Collaborates across Account Reps, Omni Channel and Brand internally and externally with Account Executives with strong negotiating skills and a high level of patience and professionalism. Actively participates in projects and teams to carry out duties, as assigned, to benefit the individual, the Brand or the Company as a whole.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner with Sr. Account and Account Executives to manage, develop and maintain business relationships with account base as well as help drive growth with existing account base by identifying new business opportunities and strategies.
• Maintains regular daily or weekly contact with Sale Representatives within the assigned territory.
• Assist with developing and implementing an overall brand and business strategy in partnership with individual Sr. Account Executives /Account Executives as a means to optimize sales and profit margins.
• Directs team to deliver inspirational product presentations, presenting new collections in a compelling way along with the corresponding marketing programs and collateral.
• Maintains close relationships with accounts ensuring that relevant information is properly communicated as it relates to branding policies.
• Partners with the Brand marketing team to assist and execute seasonal marketing initiatives inclusive of: events, displays, and/or window campaigns in an effort to support key relationships and drive sales.
• Achieves and exceeds quarterly, seasonal and annual sales goals for assigned key account(s) by driving sell in and sell through of products.
• Delivers accurate timely sales reports and weekly sell-thru analysis; manages sales forecast sales, solicitation of inventory re-order and merchandise plans on a monthly level.
• Cultivate strong relationships with retailers and internal Brand team; partners with Product Design team for the creation and execution of special make-ups/special projects, as related to solicitation of sales orders.

Strategy:
• Drives the strategic plan and manages the achievement of the overall sales plan and key business goals across the assigned accounts and the market; through effectively implementing, managing and driving sales.
• Partners with Marketing to ensure strategic marketing requirements are executed, including that key priorities and areas of focus are executed on time and on budget.
• Accountable for all solicitations of forward order and in season business, in line with season targets and delivered via a proactive sell through strategy and inventory re-order management.
• Develop and maintain productive, effective and professional relationships with peers, superiors, auditors and others. Represent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all times.
• Works closely with Sales Leadership to build the short term and long term business goals relating to the Brand in the specific channel of distribution.
• Supports the overall business direction and strategy.
• Builds excellent relationships with Independent Account Executives and Senior Business Partners.
• Identifies and engages new Business opportunities in the sectors.

Sales & Profitability:
• Oversees the execution and preparation, of the seasonal product forecasts for all accounts.
• Develops the profitability of the business with all accounts, manage and collate sales information for analysis and review with key partners and through to Sales Leadership.
• Directs the segmentation of the range and segment of the marketplace.
• Directs the allocation of the product range.
• Ensures Company and Branded guidelines and that trading criteria and standards are met at all levels, including maximizing brand presence in store.
• Coordinates the negotiation of customer trading terms between key accounts and corporate headquarters to gain best possible prices and margins whilst maximizing volume opportunities always done in consultation with Sales Leadership.

Operations:
• Establishes sales opportunities within the market through comparative analysis of sales figures.
• Works close with the Operations and Sales Leadership to direct and forecast the seasonal plan.
• Manages the sales team to ensure accuracy of forecast sales plans.
• Takes an active role in recruitment and succession planning of the sales teams.
• Facilitates and plan monthly sales meetings with the sales force to ensure flow of total business performance and information.
• Manages performance against targets.
• Analysis of sell in and sell through to better manage account’s inventory position.
• Collaborates with Customer Experience and Sales Operations to review order book position in season, liaising to take corrective management where appropriate.
• Manages and develops the sales teams in the territory.

Marketing:
• Ensures Brand guidelines are met, brand building and sell through.
• Strategic management of marketing for key accounts.
• Ensuring product training and product standards are maintained with the support of the Visual Merchandising and field teams.
• Delivering to the Marketing Manager the budget needs of all Marketing support by Account: to include online costs and any mail order photography requirements.
• Reviews and actions Visual Merchandising budgets to include in store promotions and events.
• Promote the Company’s and the brands business ethos to all customers, teams and business partners.

People:
• In collaboration with HR, ensure that talent is developed within the sales team creating positive succession planning.
• Acts as a positive influence on the overall running of the business through personal credibility, sound judgement and first class team working and communication skills.
• Conducts regular team meetings to ensure strategy is achieved and team are being developed and driven to succeed.
• Ensures development of the team and that each has performance and individual goals for development.
• Provides coaching, direction, development and empowers direct reports.
• Ensures workflow and processes are to maximum efficiencies for business necessity.
• Directs, coordinates and evaluates Sales Reps/Account Executives.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of experience
• Strong Sales/Marketing Experience
• Proven substantial sales management experience
• Direct sales experience in selling to department store channels or relevant experience preferred
• Proven track record of delivering results according to sales and financial plans
• Ability to see the overall picture of the sales process and assist with the day-to-day account
• Knowledge of current and future trends with the ability to guide and direct the business
• Footwear experience
• Previous experience with multi-functional organizations
• Cultural understanding of the Brand
• Proven track record in brand management and successful sales development
