General Purpose:

The International Sales Manager is directly responsible for all international sales activity. This position identifies appropriate distribution opportunities, creates and implements strategies to enter new international markets and designs and executes strategies to grow existing distribution channels.

Essential Functions:

• Directly responsible for the growth of international distributor sales
• Responsible for creating and maintaining international distributor relationships
• Responsible for forecasting, planning and measuring the growth and stability of the channel

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• International Sales:
- Works in close collaboration with Director of Sales to ensure aligned and effective channel sales and brand strategies
- Develops and implements a one- to three-year strategic plan for global growth and distribution that supports the company objectives
- Owns relationships with distributors and strategic partners: directly responsible for the growth of these accounts; and to meet and exceed budgets.
- Develops and maintains key relationships
- Ensures that sales and margin goals are met or exceeded
- Delivers on sales plans, customer service, forecasting, brand development, partnership programs and community outreach
- Assists in development and implementation of business plans, marketing plans and related tactics
- Utilizes trade shows to strengthen relationships with key accounts and to foster engagement with sales reps
- Follows sales processes and procedures; continually seeks to identify improvement needs or opportunities for increased efficiencies and communicates these effectively
- Ensures superior customer service and order management at all times
- Collaborates cross-departmentally with Customer Service, Marketing, Product Development and Operations to ensure ease and efficiency of doing business with Klean

• International Sales Management:
- Responsible for building a network of international distributors, including recruitment and termination
- Partners with and provides direction to international distributors
- Consults with Director of Sales if and when changes need to be made
- Proactively communicates promotions, product line updates and technical training to international distributors and key accounts
- Be and serve as the champion of the voice of our international customers and advocate for our Distributor partners (e.g. Market-specific needs, in-market support; expansion opportunities, new customer and market penetration)

• Forecasting, Planning and Measuring:
- Provides annual financial forecast and works with Director of Sales for strategic planning inputs
- Develops a needs analysis of international distributor business
- Works directly and collaboratively with Marketing & Brand and Product team members in the development, planning and execution of Go-To Market plans
- Develops annual promotional calendar
- Works with international distributors to provide monthly forecast for demand planning purposes
- Actively manages a 12-month rolling forecast and related demand planning; proactively reports and communicates progress in relation to monthly and annual plan
- Provides monthly territory sales reports to international distributors and Director of Sales
- Manages to metrics that reflect account improvement:
- Maintains and grows overall account and profitability
- Monitors international distributor performance
- Anticipates trends and effectively communicates opportunities and challenges to Director of Sales and other stakeholders

• Leadership and Collaboration:
- Actively supports a culture of accountability while maintaining the camaraderie and friendly nature so valued by the staff and leadership team of Klean Kanteen
- Actively participates in the development plan for the team as in their own professional growth plan
- Fosters a culture of transparency to the team, international distributors, retail partners, and consumers of Klean Kanteen

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

­- Excellent communication skills: written and verbal
­- Fluency in at least two languages preferred (English required)
­- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to confront tough issues in a productive manner, creating buy-in and support for key sales strategies
­- Strong teamwork, team development and interpersonal skills
­- Proven ability to utilize sales processes and procedures such as CRM and ERP tools
­- Experience with industry reporting tools such as SPINS, Whole Foods Portal
­- Consistently exhibits company values and ethos in all interactions with internal staff, associates, customers, suppliers, and external constituents
­- Proven customer service skills with internal and external customers both in-person and via other media such as email and telephone. Able to work under short deadlines as well as dynamic, potentially stressful customer service situations.
­- Must have excellent organizational skills; Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
­- Ability to make good decisions - think quickly, act decisively, inform others; Proven analytical, research, problem-solving and decision making skills; Demonstrated ability to understand and balance technical issues / solutions with time / cost / human factor.

Education or Formal Training:

­- Minimum BS/BA in Business, International Business, Communications, Sales, Marketing or other relevant fields or relevant work experience/training that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in the role; MBA preferred

Experience:

- Direct or relevant combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities in qualifying.
­- 7+ years of experience in international sales or international business development

Material and Equipment Directly Used:

­- Desktop PC, standard computer printers and faxes, copy machines and other office equipment.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

- ­Ability to travel 30%
- ­Standard business / cubicle environment
­- Bending, and reaching forward, sideways, and overhead; Finger dexterity to perform functions on computer and access files.
